Hello All,

For those of you who don't know I will soon be opening my own specialized shop (cross your fingers, spit over your shoulder, pray for me) I've had to do a lot of indepth research regarding sex toys. Which leads me to this thread...I'm looking for opins...open opins what have you used? What have you and your SO's used? What do you like best?

For instance...have you used a swing before? Have you used the bench with the opening in the middle? Vibrators, dildos, butt plugs? I'm interested in all your views and reviews?

This will really help me out and from my experience you guys can get rather open...looking forward to it

I am new tto the sex toy purchasing adventure and have purchased 3 vibrators. The one I like most has a clit stimulator/vibrator attached so I get the best of both worlds however it is kinda noisy so I have to use it only when I am alone (I have 2 teenage kids at home with great hearing). I think the quieter the better.

I also have a vibrating bullet that I use on myself and my husband. We enjoy that.

I have a friend that suggested I get a butt plug. I am not sure what that will do for me but I am willing to try. He said glass is the best.

Not sure if that will help. I am a 46 year old mother and grandma and am still shopping for more things. You never know what you can find out there.

I've never used a butt plug and have NO clue what it does! So i'm no help there! However they have the vibrators that are like underwear the battery is smaller so it is a lot quieter...also I think because it is actually strapped on you, your own body muffles the sounds (hope that helps) I have two girls who are also in nosey mode! LOL so I understand

I don't have a whole slew of them, but my favorite is definitely my vibrator. It's leopard print, for one Haha and it's the kind that has a little curve at the end, so it stimulates my G-spot right on. check out something sexy planet they have several kinds...ones that just have adjustable strings and you slip into them (the strings go around your thighs) or they have the ones that are actual underwear and some come with remote controls

Yes maam. Vibrators, glass dildo, butt plug, vibrating butt plug, ring (for DH of course).

Regarding vibrators, I've got a rabbit and a blue dolphin (it can go in the water). If we do use a vibrator, we tend to use the blue dolphin, for some reason I like it better than the rabbit.

My obsolute favorite is my glass dildo, one - it is way sexy and two - you can play with the temperature. Put it in the freezer or a bowl of ice cubes, sit it in warm water for a few. The sensations you get with different temps are good.

A buttplug is really designed to stretch your (or that certain someone else's) back door for easier/more comfortable anal play. You lube up and s-l-o-w-l-y insert the device, as you relax it'll go in easier. Once its in and you're comfy you can remove the plug and get to anal sex or start using toys.

You don't 'screw' somebody with a plug. There are different toys for that. Some people just leave the plug in for masturbation/oral sex, and in that case a vibrating buttplug may come in handy.

I personally like TANTUS brand plugs and anal toys.. they are silicon which is firmer than the jelly rubber used in many toys but not as solid as plastic/glass. Silicon can be boiled in water or run through the dishwasher to kill germs, but if the toys are for you alone, just soap & water will be fine. (The wife and I personally own three sizes of the 'Silk' dildo, a 'Sire', and we'll probably pick-up a 'Buck' and a 'Cisco' sometime soon).

Get anal beads that are made from solid silicon or plastic... anything with rope inbetween the balls is a bad idea because they are impossible to clean.

Bondage Gear: If you're stocking a store its easiest to carry SPORTSHEETS nylon & velcro gear... surprisingly sturdy, inexpensive, and not very threatening. If you want to stock more traditional bondage gear, I've been very happy with RED'S BLACK LEATHER (a division of DOC JOHNSON). High quality leather, good prices, stuff lasts forever (I'm very partial to my leather-covered wooden paddle that has 'SPANK' spelled-out in chrome studs).

Don't sell bondage furniture... It takes up too much store room, sells very poorly, and most people will just order from someone online direct who can undersell you by $100.

Scented candles are always a good seller at toy stores, as are books and party games

Stock a wide variety of condoms, dental dams, and just about every brand of lube you can find (most brand-name lubes work very well, but customers are typically very brand loyal).

Video's: Porn is bigger business in America than Hollywood (Its true!), and with an estimated 9000 new titles released every year on DVD and Blu*Ray you can't stock everything. Carry big-names like Digital Playground, Evil Angel, Hustler, Adam & Eve and then stock the rest based on customer demand. I'm also partial to instructional DVDs (as anyone who's read my posts before will tell you), and would carry at least Nina Hartley's titles, OSK Productions are better (IMHO) but aren't as well-known.
