A guy covering your eyes during sex? Why?

I've been with my boyfriend for about 8 months, and having sex with him for about 7. We like to spice things up and try new things, but recently and this is really recent he has covered my eyes during sex. Normally when he does something strange i'd be up front and ask him what he's doing. Although his answer to this might scare me.
Is he trying to cover my face and imagine someone else or something!? I don't exactly think i'm unattractive but why else would he do this? I've been pretty concerned and just afraid to be up front and ask.
Or is it maybe something silly he saw in porn, he does watch quite a bit of it?

I like to think we have a very open and healthy relationship.
Anyone else ever have a guy do this?

hmm i have no idea... I covered the eyes of partner once, but that was because I had never done anything sexual before and was completely guilty and ashamed of myself and didn't want him to see what I was doing (giving him a BJ). It doesn't sound like that is the case with you though since you've been having sex for several months without any problem.

I do wonder if it's some sort of fantasy... like a rape fantasy? Or sex with a stranger?

      don't torment yourself

just ask him about it, especially if you don't like it. i doubt that its anything overly strange or disturbing. perhaps he had a prior gf that enjoyed it. might not even be part of his kink or overall enjoyment.

if it doesn't really bother you (though it seems like it does) and if he really enjoys it, i don't see much harm in it.

if you don't like it and don't say anything about... perhaps he will try other things that you don't really enjoy either. ei- 'choking'. not to say that there is anything wrong with 'choking' (i had a partner that asked for it and enjoyed it quite a bit).

bottom line: talk about it before it hampers your relationship. personally, as long as its communicated and its not too far out of the realm of my standards of decency, i am pretty game at providing what my partner enjoys (and hopefully returns).

      best of luck!

Maybe he'd like to use a scarf or something to cover your eyes but didn't have anything in hand? Some people have this fantasy. He might just not have the courage to ask you to do it. (He might bring out the handcuffs next .)

But if you don't like it. Tell him.

          Thank you everyone,

I suppose the act itself doesn't bother me as far as the reason behind it. I'll bring it up with him and find out the real reason. Although, I can't really see it being a rape sort of fantasy since he likes me to be the dominant one in bed...
I guess the real reason I'm worried is that he is very close with an ex and I don't want him pretending i'm her... I can handle some kinky stuff but probably not that haha.

I suppose i'll be finding out soon enough!

I always thought covering someone's eyes up was more for the person who was being blinded than for the other person. Something about not knowing what's going on that heightens the moment.

I had a previous partner who did this, it turned out to be "instead of a scarf etc" as Dutchess mentioned earlier. I don't think there's anything to be concerned about. If it bothers u, u should mention it to him....it may be just that it simply "turns him on". The only way to find out is to ask i'm afraid!! x
