I find that older men are more patient, more understanding, more willing to listen to me, less inclined to be full of machismo, and more knowledgeable in bed. If I feel like sitting in a coffee shop and discussing archeology or something, a guy my age would probably think I was crazy, but older men are more likely to have interests beyond their cars or football.
At no point has the threader stated because he has more money?

Seems that she finds him more "mellow with life" in general, more understanding of life in general and more stimulating in conversation, respect and understanding of a women in general and that of all of her needs, emotionally and sexually.

This is exactly how I read the thread.

Which in my books is maturety, no machosim, and as i stated In-Need, that person can be younger than the op.... not to put age into a box, rather it is the more mature male, who doesn't view football, meat pies, beer and mates, as his main priorities rather his relaxation time, personal space.

Chandler, if you look at happy ending's first post the most obvious conclusion to draw is goldigger. I even said that on further definition that she had more substantial reasons to what she was saying, that I accepted, even though on the face of it she blended in with the vacuous crowd of lazy money grabbing women.

WildChild, I'd call a man that expects to be supported by his woman as a scrubber, or a rather unmanly man, or whatever other undefined word there would be for it. I'm not saying that it's right for men to sponge of women (although we do have some serious catching up to do).

Absolutely agreed. If you want to be treated equally, make something of your life and don't rely on your breasts to pay your bills.

No1, the W word means exchanging sex for money right? The oldest trade in the book. So yes, when women base their relationship on money, as far as I'm concerned, they fit the bill of the 'W' word perfectly. But then, there are men that have no redeeming traits save their money anyway, and where would they be without money craving women? I'm not saying that this sort of arrangement shouldn't exist, just that it should be called what it is; prostitution.

Absolutely, however, the threader is desert spirit, hense, I copied her original post above yours. She is not discussing money at all rather age and wisdom.

It's easy to come to a conclusion as well placing people in "boxes' I think happy ending's reply to that, being in a relationship, owing her own home, car etc, takes her out of that acquation.

And, if we are to go down the track yet again of "money" I would agree with Wildchild seeing as my ex was quite happy to spend $70k of my money and give none...

It is in-deed PEOPLE, i don't believe you can put this into a box.

        Just my opinion.

Happyending, Absolutely not! No way, and don't let any comments that might have been made here affect you in that way, you be you, I admire you for the way you are!

Please don't feel that way! All of us give opinions, that's what it is about. And opinions are like noses everybody has one but they are not always pretty! Be encouraged with the way you are. Ok?

be careful, i always dated older guys which worked well till i married one. when i was a energetic vibrant 40 - he was well over the hill. not good. but older men are great to date, they usually have more money and more ahem practice at the physical side of things.
Hun, you only hit one spot until you explained it.... It is a fair call of Anon's to make that assumption.. He is of the age whereby women ONLY look for security, money, jobs, it sucks... Yet that is not what he is looking for.

You explained it further in your post, don't take it to heart, he has stated and which is true, this is NOT the first thread of sorts whereby women are ONLY looking for money, you were not singled out.

He I am sure, hey ANON, appreciates as I stated YOU are not in that catagory.

Little will also back this up, unless you lot have been here as long as she has, as long as Anon and almost me, we have seen posts that state what he is saying.

You are of a different kettle of fish, haha, it's all good.

If it's only about money, then I'd say that person is shallow.

If there were a quid pro quo, like... hand over money and get sex (or more sex) then maybe you could call it what you do.

There's nothing sinister about wanting to be with someone who is not broke.

And happy ending, ... no, you are not a gold digger or a lazy money grubbing woman. You sound pretty successful and looking for love and respect, kinda like the rest of us humans.

I'm sorry but what is wrong with you guys?! Anon has gotten you all so off track it's not even funny. The orginal poster was asking if dating older men seems weird. Answer that and move on.

I'm not even going to begin to go into the whole prositute thing except to say thta I wonder why certain peopel are on this site when it seems as if they have a lack of respect for women. Golddiggers, moneygrubbers, prostitutes,s,emotionally incapabe of making good decisions.......makes a girl wonder what's going on here. Just my opinion though.

I think this thread can't seem to go back to the original poster's question so I am closing it.
