hey, just want to add to what everyone else has said - he needs to simplify his life and only do the minimum.

school is his ticket to a better life, so that needs to be a priority. He should declare himself independent legally from his parents so that he can qualify for all possible loans (I did it and was able to receive a lot more). Then he needs to get a work study job or on campus job so he can work around his classes, work normal hours, and also have time to study on the job when there's down time.

When things in his life slow down and aren't as chaotic, he'll be better as well. It sounds like he's going too hard and leaving very little time for rest and recovery. He probably needs to take it easier than most people because of his condition, and it sounds like he's working harder than most.
