If he would have said 49... with him being 50 that would be, still a lie, but at least more going with his logic of how things look on paper vs reality. I mean 49 and 50 look pretty dang close in person but on paper 49 sounds younger than 50... so maybe he would have had a point -- but almost 10 years???? saying he is 43 when he is 52 is a pretty huge deception.

And a waste of someones time if you were truly only interested in someone 43 and no interest in 52. Like a guy probably wouldn't mind a girl saying she weighs 129 if she actually weighs 130... but saying she weighs 129 and is actually 200lbs is a pretty obvious difference.

I don't like how he talked about previous dates with you I don't like that he lied so greatly about his age (he exaggerated/advertised almost a whole decade younger... thats bad!)

HOpefully the oysters and wine were good miss cw, sounds like this fish should get thrown back in the ocean :P you deserve so much better!!!!

He sounds like he was already insecure before you two met up and I'd bet he didn't know what to do when he had a confident woman sitting across from him. So he babbled away about his previous dates to try to build himself up a bit but without success. Maybe you need to get yourself a wild 36 year old to match your inner spirit.

The sad part is, he's "lying to himself". The lady he got on with, surely didn't go back for the same reason as me. This lady he liked too but has no chance. The ladies who didn't care, had their own problems and were in-secure and would "settle" that, he, didn't want.

I agree HD...$100 in taxi fairs plus food, was a waste of my time... The wine was nice, but I have wine at home and could have been here with my family haha. But, it got me out, I got dressed up, I felt sexy and all woman and for that it's worth $100.

Strangely, it seems to be a pattern (baggage), they all talk about their past, except Confident Jerk...

As, I said it made me realise I am whole, complete and know where I am going... more so than I ever have in my entire life.

For the age bit? I am not looking for a 43 year old, as I said Confident Jerk was cool, nice, and 51.

I'm looking for the "spirit of youth, alive, passionate, wanting out of life, ambitions, goals and intelligence"...

Tex, a 36 year old may or may not have that but I'd be worried that he would want children, and a younger woman, most men do... at some point.. and your ditched

I know You're in your late 20's early 30's with a head on your shoulder as if your in your 40's so I know that age is irrelevant where minds, souls and spirits meet.

Cat, daughter This may be my problem babe, in looks and in spirit... I've been a Cougar, just not telling you lot and it was a good feeling, must experience everything once in your life surely, right?

          lol.

Mind and spirit are what should matter most. Physical beauty fades with time but those two things can last forever. Ok, so I must admit that being almost 30 I wouldn't go for a 70 or an 80 year old no matter how funny and smart but I think age difference shouldn't matter between someone in their mid 30s and you in your mid 40s. Now as for children that just depends on the man. Some dudes develop a fatherly instinct already in their early 20s and others like me still don't have the urge to be fathers.

HAHA.. Okay, we agree again 70 and 80 is way out there.

I never had ambitions for children, as I was/am a workaholic. I now know I can travel and will and am, where ever I want. Leads to another problem, maybe he has to be older as otherwise, I end up as step mum to 11 and 13 year olds, or younger Man I GIVE UP!! lol.

What you need to realise though is I love children, my nieces and nephews call me AK, instead of Aunty K.... and have from around 11.

And, naturally, there are my daughters here It doesn't bother me, I love children, I love being that "mum", "aunty" but, most single Dads, honestly don't get to see their children very often and they are the most important people to them as a result, hard to have 50/50 feelings going on, if you can understand.

And, I am ok with that, but I know just from a couple of dates, your last... always last...

I can compromise, consider, bend, give.... But, I haven't met a man yet that can do the same. They take.

              Sad huh...

Okay, I'm turning bi.. gay, that's the answer.. Just worked it out.

              Only kidding.

                Can we agree yet again?

I like children too and have nothing against them but I guess I don't like them to the point of wanting any of my own. I don't have commitment issues when it comes to women but for some reason I feel too independent for children. I dunno.

I also don't know if dating someone with children would work for me. I've never done it, at least not yet. I realize that any single mother is going to make her kids a priority and I think that's how it should be, no complaints from me there, but I think dating someone like that would make me feel like I'm competing for affection and that's not for me.

                  Sure

                  That word:- INDEPENDENT....

It's funny Tex. If you think about it. I am more than nurturing, I think I would have made a great MUM, I adopt even stray animals, I save bees from a swimming pool, I have a cat and two dogs, but if you had me look after a child 24/7 I'd scream...

So, with independence comes the ability of being able to be alone, without wanting/needing/clingy... you can live in your own skin, off course we want company, companionship, seek the holy grail of sexual being haha...

But, man, your right again... COMPETING FOR AFFECTION.... Did that as a child and wouldn't, couldn't do that as an Adult.. I am me...

I guess, it's someone older after all then huh or someone whom doesn't ever want children yet has the love... which is passion.. which gives you all the inner beauty one can ever desire and return back.

Man this is becoming a deep thread haha.

Or I am just in that mood today huh.

Tex...are you trying to be cute with my Mum? (kidding!)

Going back to your not wanting to have kids - you might change your mind sooner or later.

Maybe I just need to fly to Australia and pretend I'm a 36 year old!
