Haha dmn, she beat me to the Sex & the City comment! Internet dating never worked for me either. As your date proved, you never know what the other person could be bending the truth about. A girl I used to be friends with went on numerous dates with guys she had only spoken to online, and they all turned out this way. There was no attraction and they ended up just in disagreements.

I still like the idea of Confident Jerk though... I don't know why, but it just appeals to me when I hear you talk about him

Well my dad and his wife have been married 28 years, they met through the precourser to the internet dating - a newspaper ad. A step-niece and her husband, married 6 yrs now, met online. one of my sisters kissed several toads but is engaged to a man she met online. It turned out they had been in yoga class together and already crossed paths a few other places too, just hadn't talked.

It can happen. In today's busy, crowded world we have to use the tools available intelligently and selectively - that's all.
