Thanks, pretzel and everyone who have offered their kind thoughts! Just an update, that moving is imminent, but will have to wait until the first week of March. It's going to be a long 6 weeks. He's pretending nothing is wrong, but he's fluctuating too. He keeps telling me about movies and books that he is disappointed in because the main character "cops out" and finds a love interest instead of spending time having fun. One day is up, the next day he's down (as down as he gets). Since he's not one to think too deeply about his reactions to things, I stepped up to the plate today and offered to step back from his life once I move out. He told me he didn't want that. Really wish I could see into that guys's head. :P I say. :PComment

Good luck to you, GoodEgg. You are indeed a woman of courage. I believe it is the way to go.
Him saying that "he doesn't want that" somehow tells me two things: 1. he really means it, and just needed some alone time, or 2. it is his "polite" way of saying YES, please do.
Whatever it is, what you are doing is best for you. Hang in there.Comment

Did he actually say that? Thanks, pretzel and everyone who have offered their kind thoughts! Just an update, that moving is imminent, but will have to wait until the first week of March. Somehow that speaks volumes more about him than anything.
I really do hope that this works out for you and what's best for you.Comment

Yes, he did. It is telling, isn't it? Actually it was that statement (he mentioned the book a week or two ago, the movie is more recent), that prompted me to say that maybe we should take a break, but he didn't want that. Now, whether he's saying that to spare my feelings or not that's something else.
I'm going to see if I can get out of this house sooner, but I may be here for the long haul until March so until then I'm just taking my life day by day. Trying to see the positives rather than the negatives. Maybe this change will give him the time he needs to figure out what he's looking for, whether or not that includes a role for me. Right now, he doesn't seem to know.Comment
