I just want to know why he's telling me all this info?? Personally I don't think it's very inconsiderate of my feelings and it seems like he's trying to make me jealous. There's been plenty of guys that have been interested in me, but I've never told him, as there is no need for stupid drama.

BF keeps talking about this girl at work...?
So I've been going out with this great guy for 6 months now, and it's been going great. We're in a long distance relationship so a lot of our relationship is based on trust and constant communication. So the other day, he texts me about this girl at work asking him for his number and how he was flattered and such. At first I didn't care, (jealousy isn't a part of my personality), but the thing that bugged me was that he wouldn't drop it... And then today he tells me that she texted him asking if he worked today.

If you are an attractive gal, and garner lots of attention when out with him, it may make him a bit insecure. He's probably telling you this in an attempt to say "hey, loook here... I'M a catch TOO"!!
Sounds like he's trying to make you feel a bit insecure for some reason. Maybe he see's your lack of a jealous nature, your confidence ... as threatning in some way. Like maybe you aren't into him so he's testing you to get a reaction, etc.
Just say something like " its a good thing I trust you!! " something fun, and sweet, but letting him know you are aware that he's trying to tell you she's hitting on him. You get it, and your sick of hearing it lol... but not with those words :PScars remind us of where we've been...they don't have to dictate where we're going.Comment

Could it be that he is just trying to be open to prevent jealousy and you jumping to conclusions? Maybe he's telling you so you know he is hanging around a chick at work and he hopes that by telling you it will prevent problems in the future. Wouldn't it be worse if he didn't tell you he had a new female friend and you found out later? What would be the first thing that crossed your mind? If he is always talking about her it would be one thing, but he is telling you he is talking to her and possibly hanging out with her. If he didn't tell her he was taken it would be a whole different story....Comment

the first thing that would cross my mind would be 'he has a female friend...so what?!' My boyfriend doesnt talk to me much about his female friends - even though i know he has them - just as i dont really talk that much about my guy friends - friends only ever make an appearence in chatter when theres news, gossip or when we meet them.
If my boyfriend started talking about a girl hes met at work, i wouldnt bat an eye lid initially. Id be more interested in what he had to say about her. But if he would constantly bring her up in conversation, or feel the need to tell me everything from a sneeze to a **** that shes doing - then i would definitly feel the need to meet her. Suggesting to my boyfriend to get a few people together including her - so i could be part of their friendship. Atleast then you can share the stories together - and not feel like a third wheel in your own relationship.

Thanks for all the feedback! Hopefully he'll get the hint that I'm annoyed by whatever he's trying to pull here. I've thought about the fact that maybe he is just trying to let me know about this girl so no surprises will surface on my end. We tell each other everything in our day, but I've always been hush hush about guys hitting on me, as he's a jealous person so I assumed he wouldn't tell me either...Comment

from my own expereinces with my ex's, they didnt really take to hints. They kind of needed the whole looking into their eyes and saying it dead slow so they understood. LOL!
Dont hint about it - if its bothering you then you should tell him and talk about it. It will only begin to annoy you even more - and you will start with the whole 'scenerio creating' which will drive you insane: 'What is he doing with her?' 'i bet he's doing so and so with her' etc etc.

I agree with Joey... If there is one thing I've learned about guys, it's that they don't do hints very well. If it is bothering you enough that you want to draw attention to it, I'd just flat out mention it.If you smile when no one else is around, you really mean it.

Trying to make you jealous, see what your reaction will be. So if you respond "oh yeah? sounds like she has the hots for you?", he may think "cool I have a gf that's not jealous", or he may think "Shesh, my gf doesn't even care I'm getting hit on!". Depends on his personality.
If he brings her up again I'd have to say something to him, not in a negative way but in a "I'm not the jealous type, you know that, and I want you to be honest with me always. And in this case, I'd definitely hope that if you feel like she's hitting on you, you'd nip it in the bud/put a stop to it quickly. Otherwise, I'm going to assume you all aren't communicating like that. You totally know I trust you, but you keep bringing this up so I felt like I needed to say that".Comment

- He either wants to boost his self-confidence by making you jealous (since he is a jealous person himself he assumes he knows the 'tricks').
OR
- He is being too nice and polite to a girl who is obviously interested, but tells you about it because he wants to be honest.
OR
- He doesn't know how to turn down offers, despite that he's in a relationship, and told you about her by accident.
OR
- He mentions this girl because he is a little bit interested in her and wants you to consider the possibility of him getting together with her (since she's more available than you are).Comment
