What to get my boyfriend!?!?
for our two year anniversary? it's the 20th of this month so in 8 more days. i've no idea. i'd like to get or make something special. like for valentine's day i painted a huge picture frame to match his room and inside made a collage of photos of us surrounding a poem i wrote about him. he loved it so much that i took the time to put thought into a gift. and since i made it, it was that much more special to him. do you know of any gifts that i could make to really say how much i love him for our two year anniversary?
thanks. -
This is a tough question when it's about OTHER people..If you asked me what my girlfriend could do/get for me that would be amazing and special to me i could spout them off..Or what i could do /get for her. Only you know your boyfriend. The way he is, the things he enjoys, those tiny little inside jokes that only you two share. I know for me, those seemingly small gifts that my girlfriend makes me, are the best gifts i have EVER gotten from anyone. Way more significant than any expensive bought object. It tells me that she loves me so much that she was willing to sit down and put her time and effort into doing something JUST for me..and her gift to me is truly 1 of a kind. There is none like it sitting on a store shelf and that feels really cool :-) What are you good at? Do you have a passion for anything? Coupling that with your inside knowledge of your BF will get you a great present idea.[I]"I met in the street a very poor young man who was in love. It was mine and my boyfriends 1st year together last month, and i made him this book of memories so to speak of our year together. There were random pictures of us that were taken throughout the year - including a few saucy ones i decided to add to the mix - 'quotes of the year' that we had both said that made us laugh, tickets i had kept of the random stuff we went to through the year etc etc."Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - Chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO-HOO what a ride!!"

It very much depends on the person. My boyfriend and I are big nerds and we're always getting eachother things like video games, Magic cards, Warhammers, fantasy novels and silly things that the two of us really appreciate, but most people wouldn't. On that note, sometimes the best gifts are the things that celebrate the interests or hobbies you share, because it shows him how much you know and understand him. I agree with ocularone about the inside jokes thing, too. I know my boyfriend loves it when I bring up and old joke from a long time ago, it reminds us of what a good time we've had together.Comment

Great suggestions...one college girlfriend gave me a gift (30some years ago) that I have always remembered. It was a "get out of jail free" card. She took a blank business style card and wrote on the front "Get out of Jail Free" and on the back wrote six things that she said made her "LOVE" me. She gave me the card and said that this is a "one time only" pass on some major "flub-up" that I might make in the future. She also made it clear that it was for a 'mistake' not an intentional act.
I carried that card and the unconditional love it represented for over a year until I used it to cover a serious error in judgment that nearly got us expelled for recreational activity in the university art museum after hours. Definitely MY FAULT. She probably would have forgien me anyway but the card did make things "easier".Comment
