how to be the perfect girlfriend

Hi guys I need some advice. Ive been dating this amazing guy for nearly year all is good, and we are still at the getting to know each other stage. Im just worried cos I have heard men really hate it when women nag and moan. I want to avoid becoming one of those types of girlfriends! I am always myself around him. I do moan in general I am human after all.

Perfection is overrated. You should be the best person you can be for yourself. You've been with each other for a year, so you shouldn't overthink your behaviors at this point. I doubt he would still be hanging around if there was something he didn't like.

Why don't you ask him what his idea of the ideal girlfriend is? Because everyone is different and what someone may like here, someone else may not. If you want to avoid becoming one of those types of girlfriends, than don't. But don't change who you are to be someone who you 'think' your boyfriend will like. My guess is he likes you just the way you are.

If I rephrase that to "how to make my boyfriend be happy", then I can suggest:

        1. Be happy yourself. If you are with someone you love then if they are happy, you are more likely to be happy. In particular don't get upset about little things, don't expect him or you to be perfect, enjoy your time together.

        2. Don't expect him to change, nor should he expect you to. No one wants to be "improved" by their SO. If you don't like how your SO behaves you are better off ending the relationship (in a nice way) than trying to force them to be something they aren't.

        3. Give the impression that you are with them because you WANT to be there, not because you NEED to be there.

        4. Try not to be jealous or suspicious. If you think they are straying, then trying to "catch" them at it doesn't solve the problem. Trust them until it becomes obvious that they have done something wrong - then if that happens leave.

        5. Fantastic sex (for both of you) never hurts <g>.

Watch "10 ways to Lose a man" a fun movie but it does point out the most glaring guy killers.

you are doing the best you can by being yourself, afterall no one likes a fake hey? we all moan ,esp men like when they get sick !! i am sure you can agree with me on that one lol, i say just keep being yourself darl, dont be held back by thinking he wont like a 'nagger'. A nagger is someone who is communicating and telling it how it is for them, thats my opinion. And there is no perfect person in this life, afterall we are all human.

I am just going to echo what everyone else has said. Be yourself! 1) it's easier than keeping up with some charade and 2) would you want to be with someone who didn't really like the real you?

But I think Rcoreyus also had some great recommendations on just how to have a good relationship. (I would avoid nagging too much though. I would really ask yourself how important something is to you before you decide to ride it into the ground. I find men are MUCH more responsive when you complain only occassionally because then they can tell that you are really adamant about whatever is bothering you...not just getting onto them about something small again)
