Irritable and Overreacting? Needing some widsom. :)

So....I've found myself quite irritable the past two days. No, it's not PMS. Perhaps I'm just having a moody time or am coming down with something. Bleh. Anywho, I'm irritable and totally aware of it. lol.

I have been talking with a guy lately, for the past several weeks. We have not gone on a date yet. However, we've been texting and staying in contact with each other very frequently during the days, and up until the point we go to bed at night. Ya know...the exciting phase once you actually start talking to someone. He has been very eager and shown lots of interest in me, what I do, who I am, etc. He got sick Monday and has not been to work all week. He has had fever, and seems to feel very badly, and though his texts have slowed down somewhat, he has still been texting. This morning was the first morning in weeks I didn't get a "good morning" from him. I thought maybe he's sick, at home sleeping, so I didn't think much of it until it got lunch time and I still had heard nothing. So I text him at 11ish "hey...how u doin today?", and I got no response. It's now going on 2:00pm here and I've not heard a word from him.

This, on top of my already irritable self is upset by this...or I should say bothered by it. It's not like we're in a relationship, commited, or even dating at this point. And obviously, I'm not going to text him again if he doesn't respond. But if you were me, would you be bothered by this? Or should I chalk it up to him being sick and me overreacting?

Given that otherwise he's shown lots of interest in you, and pairing that with him being miserably sick and you just feeling, well... kinda miserable, I think you might be a overly sensitive to his not texting you back.

There could be a plethera of things going on - maybe he doesn't have a free hand to text you because he's too busy expelling bodily fluids from every orface? maybe he's so wiped from being sick he's sleeping every free moment he's got? maybe his phone broke or he lost it or it was stolen?

You see? There could be a lot more to it than he's just choosing to ignore your text... Besides, it has really only been 3 hours...

give him a few days to respond - he probably will soon! if he doesn't, feel free to not send him anything, or if you want to test the waters one more time, text him again asking if he's feeling better.

but try not to get too bothered by it right now, easier said than done I realize, especially when you aren't in the best mood to begin with! lol

You're right. OMG, why am I being so insecure? Lol!!! This is not like me at all. I keep looking at my phone and everytime I get a text I'm disappointed when it's not him. UGH. I guess I have a crush. I do not like this. Noooooooooo I don't like it at all.

I know that the chances he's been sleeping ALL day are slim. And I know that as of yesterday and Tuesday, he wasn't throwing up or anything like that. Just fever and feeling really bad. And if he's been up at ALL he knows I've text him......and I know how effortless it would be to write back "still sick. feel awful. going to sleep". The last time I heard from him was last night when I went to bed. I dunno.......but I know it's totally not productive to sit here and fret about it. (Though that's what I'm doing. lol). I HATE THIS. Boys stink.

And now I'm asking myself, how much of this irritability is actual genuine irritability, and how much of it is just being down because he hasn't contacted me ?!!? Hmmmm. BOYS STINK.

He JUST text me and said "oh this sucks". LOL. I'm such a biatch. Poor fella is probably just very sick.

I hate myself when I'm like this., especially when I don't have PMS to blame. hahaha! After work, I shall go drink some coffee, then go take a nice long jog.

hahaha! You're working yourself into quite a tizzy over this boy, BD! Hopefully he's worth it and I'm happy you've found what seems to be a nice guy to be crushing on! Glad he texted you back so now you can stop worrying!

At least you're able to recognize when you're letting your mind get ahead of you... and not calling it quits after 3 hrs and sending msgs you might regret later when you get your bearings again!

coffee and a nice jog sound lovely - hope it helps! When I'm feeling a bit "off" I usually grab the nearest chocolately, calorie filled pastry I can find! I like your coping mechanism better

I do this when I'm "crushing". Lol. I never tell them, or let it show to anyone else (except you all of course!) but I fight this internal battle. haha. "He likes me...he likes me not...he likes me....he likes me not....".

All you have to do when you feel this way is put yourself in his shoes and try to imagine if getting back to his texts would be your priority if you felt like h.e. double hockey sticks! If you knew he was sitting around going WHY ISN'T SHE TEXTING ME?! You'd probably roll your eyes up into your head and call him a selfish jerk..lol I am not saying you are being one!!!!!!! I'm just saying sometimes when we feel things on one side, we don't remember or can't visualize what its like on the other end... and when we stop and do that... it makes it easier to check ourselves into reacting more rationally.

Yes, especially when we're being irrational biatches. HEHE.

And I know...you're totally right. I'm a big stinkin baby when I'm sick.

ha ha BD I do the same thing. I mean it's WAY worse when I'm first dating someone. I went into a complete tizzy one night because J had not texted me back and it was a weekend and only 9:30 and I didnt' know why he wasn't texting. I was hysterical about how he must not like me, yada yada, (you get the idea). I was mad at myself too for even being in a tizzy... Foudn out the next morning, he was sleeping. I guess I failed to think that hmmm...he'd worked like 60 hours AND had class so he was exhausted. I also had the same attack the second week we were dating when he lost his phone. I found out about 6 hours after I texted that he had lost his phone when he got to a computer to email...

But I do find it VERY intriguing that this boy has you in a tizzy Enjoy your run!!

She's like a cat on a tin roof,
That is the perfect way to describe me yesterday. Lol!!!!!

                    OMG who is this woman?
That's exactly what I was asking myself.

It's funny when you type something and you KNOW how irrational you sound, but you still feel so strongly about it that it doesn't matter HOW irrational it sounds. lol. Ohhh my. My afternoon helped. I've been coming home from work every day and studying until time for supper, breaking to cook supper, then studying again until time to jog. Then it's pretty much time for bed. I think it was just all catching up with me so I took the afternoon off from studying yesterday. I think I just needed a break and a good nights sleep. Lord, let's hope thats all it was. If I had to deal with that woman who invaded my body yesterday very often, I think I'd hurt her!!!! lol
