How should I tell this guy I like him?

Ok there's this really sweet guy that I like, he always opening doors and doing the "ladies first" thing...like one day he walked out the door, then turned around and saw me and ran back to hold the door open for me and replied,"I didn't want to be rude." From the first day I saw him I thought he was really cute, but after that I completely admired him. I want to tell him I like him, but I'm worried he may reject me and because he's caucasian, he may not be interested in black girls...I'm really nervous, depressed, frustrated and confused about this. I want to tell him so bad but don't know how...I'm really shy so it'll be hard for me to just walk up to him and say,"hey, I like you." I don't want it to seem too high school, but I don't want to scare him away. What should I do?

Hmm, your best bet is to talk to him next time and start up a conversation. Find some common ground and interests. If things go well then set up something fun that doesn't put either of you in a situation where it could feel like a "date". Playing a sport, going jogging or to the gym, getting lunch, whatever is easiest. That will give you a chance for both of you to get to know each other better, but more importantly, for you to see what's going on in his life, if he's single and if he's into you. I'd caution against saying "I like you" but rather something more like "I''d like to get to know you more." Remember though that men are more analytical and the more mysterious a woman is the more intrigued he will become... so don't be too transparent too quickly!

When a man wants to meet a woman, he will find a way if you signal an interest. I have never approached a man, I think it puts me at a disadvantage. Some men say they would it when woman approach them but they like the chase and letting a man find his way to you creates the right dynamic.

When you in the same room with him, make eye contact briefly and if he returns the looks he is probably interested. Then every time you catch him looking at you, smile and break eye contact after a second. He may just be a nice guy and not be interested in dating. If he is he will come to you.

Don't be despondent, you are a beautiful young woman and you will have many more chances to meet men who are interested in you. If this one does not work, another guy will come into your life. Don't get stuck on one guy and miss the others that are interested. . Good luck.

Don't tell him you like him, guys don't like it very much

I agree with Allie, wait until he shows interest or do/say something that would make him interested or realize you are interested without actually saying so. If he won't get the hint then it's better to keep looking. It's generally a bad start if the guy takes for granted that you're interested before he even tries to make you interested, since men tend to get lazy quite easily.

I think you should just start showing more interest in him, he'll get the hint. Say hello whenever you see him, ask how he is doing. A quick 'how is your day going?' can start a conversation pretty easy. If you see him on campus, ask where he's going and walk with him and chat. The more dialogue you have the more chance the two of you have to get to know each other. If you go out of your way to be friendly, you won't need to tell him that you like him, he'll get it.

He sounds polite, but even polite guys don't run back to catch a door for a girl unless they care what that girl thinks of them. (usually) So that's a good sign.

Thanks I'll try and throw a couple flirty hints, starting with eye contact.
