My Heart Is Out Of Chances...

*Sorry If This Turns Into A Rant, It Just Really Hurts Me*

I'm seventeen years old. Its my Junior year of high school. And every guy I go for, plays me like a cheap arcade game. I wear glasses and have self-esteem the size of a pea. When my glasses are off and I just wear mascara (its all the make-up I ever wear), I feel absolutely stunning. My confidence soars like a free bird.

#1 - Crushed on my hot, new neighbor. We hung out and flirted like crazy. I told my best friend. She knew I liked him a ton and the next thing I knew, their dating.

#2 - Crushed on a hot guy from another school. We flirted over facebook and texted a ton, he lives near me. I got sick when we were supposed to hang out. Next thing I knew, he ditched me for another girl who looks like a hooker.

#3 - Crushed on my best friends (different than friend #1) younger (16 in July) brother. My best friend actually encouraged us to be together. We texted and flirted insanely. Now, he wont text back and pretends I dont exist.

What is wrong with me? My confidence is dead, 6 feet under with a bunch of dead, decaying roses. I feel like I can't find any guy and I'm scared I'm going to be alone my entire time in high school. I'm a virgin (and will be until marriage) sexually and kissing. Sometimes I cry because I feel like I'm such a late bloomer that I'll never be beautiful or have a chance to be happy with a guy.

If these boys are flirting with you, that should boost your confidence since that obviously means they feel a spark/are attracted. Don't let the end result get you down because you will meet many screws like that between now and college. I can't tell you how many countless men have flirted then bailed or actually dated, put effort into it, and left after a month unexplained. Men are just immature at that age.

That being said, there are some decent guys to be found in high school looking for steady relationships so it's all about the personality you're trying to attract. It seems you keep falling for a similar type of guy repeatedly. Try finding someone you can connect with naturally as a friend whom you think is attractive and you'll find the right kind of relationship developing from that point. If you feel confident and pretty a certain way, then be that way all the time wear mascara and try other things to see how you feel. I was a virgin until 18 there's nothing wrong with waiting. Kissing will happen when it happens but don't try and rush a relationship just because you want to be at the level of those around you! Everyone's different!

I too was a virgin until 18, when I moved to college. Didn't date at ALL until then. At the time I considered myself a late bloomer too, but now with hind sight I'm thinking that waiting even a few years past 18 wouldn't have been a bad idea!!

I know it feels like the end of the world now but come on... relax. Do you know how much people change between the ages of 17 and 27? You might be a completely different person in one, two years' time, and you may have a completely different life. Why on earth would you assume that just because you're not dating NOW, that you won't date in the future? I see no evidence to support this fear.

Lots of guys in high school are really flighty. They jump from one chick to the next without second thought. And there are lots of girls who do that, too. So you haven't found one who's as interested in a relationship as you are. So what. Pffft. You will some day. Possibly very soon!

Glasses can be very fashionable. Consider spending some cash on some trendy-looking ones, or get contacts, if you feel THAT much better without glasses!

Alternatively, you can wear your mascara AND your glasses, do up your hair, put together a nice outfit, and boom, confidence up.

Your on a motor car smashing Lewis Hamiltons records to pieces - slowwwwwww downnnnnnn

You are still young at 17, don't rush things too much. People get put off by people who come across as too needy and desperate....shallow I know but its what a lot of boys are like especially at your age.

Relax, love yourself and take it easy. What you don't want to do is rush into a relationship with any joe off the street and realize the horrors of getting attached to a jerk Just enjoy life and your prince will come when least expected
I am going to tell you what you don't want to hear!
