Maybe he's just taking a break from your routine. Did you ask him what he's up to? It could be that he was busy running some important errands and cannot text you. There's nothing wrong if you will be the one to initiate the contact and ask. So long as you don't sound annoying and demanding. Besides, this is just the first time he wasn't able to contact you. I'm sure it has nothing to do what what happened that night.
