Its not that he is using her to impress his friends because she is better looking than you, he is using the pics to talk to his friends about her because he might be hung up on what she did to his ego. He is only thinking of what she did to his ego, not the real her. He has forgotten all about the real her, all he has is a picture of her and the scars on his ego. So, its understandable how his actions might effect your ego, but realize you arent competing with her. She is just a shadow and an excuse in his mind.

That might be why he still thinks of her, she dumped him. Its funny how that works, dumping someone and moving on can make them only want to be with you more. His ego is the driving force behind this, not his obsession with her. You could be ten times hotter than her, and he would still think of her because she was too good for him (in his mind because she ditched him).
