    Confused

I know this sounds dumb, but I don't understand this guy I like. I don't really have relationship experiences because I'm kind of shy and keep to myself... which I guess sounds lame now that I've typed that.

I've caught him looking at me several times, and once he did the whole embarrassed smile and look down routine. He always goes out of his way to say hi, and he's been helpful. At times even overly so. We don't get to see each other a whole lot, and he's more reserved too, but sometimes he makes small talk when he does see me.

But I'm worried that maybe he's just being "nice." Something that bothered me a week ago was that we were briefly talking in front of other people, and he seemed more reserved than usual. I also tried to ask him a question, and he didn't answer me and then said have a nice day. However, things were a little busy, and I did end up mumbling a bit, so maybe he didn't hear or understand me. I don't know.

He's also about ten years older than me, so I don't know if he just thinks I'm some kid he's being nice to. I'm in my late twenties, but people say I look like I'm in my early twenties.

Do you think I should try to talk to him a few more times or give up? I don't want to come across as some annoying stalker and get on his nerves.

Can you tell us a bit more about, how you met, where and what if any you know about him?

It's great that you can obserb, he may be thinking actually, that he has no chance, like he is close to 40, maybe he has been single all of his life or most, fear jumps in there.

That is why it would be good if you could add a bit more about what you know about him

If he was just trying to be nice he wouldn't have been embarrassed. He is interested, but may be shy. Try talking to him in a more one on one setting since you both seem to be shy.
