physical limitations mentioned in online profile

I'm still at this online dating game. Nothing new! I find that so many guy profiles I read say they are active and want the women to be active with them. And I can't be active. It was getting to the point that guys would email me and talk about hiking, skiing, biking, and other sports. And at that point, I would tell them I can't do that kind of stuff. Well maybe the biking but there are no guarantees. I think that maybe more wishful thinking on my part that I could survive that.

Right now I just added to my public profile that I can't be as active as you guys want a woman to be. I can't ski, golf, run, or hike, or even dance because of my knee. I just say it is an old injury. I figure if I'm honest up front, it will weave out the guys who this will really matter to. Then I say but this is what I can do and list stuff that I do to stay busy.

But I wonder. The guys who are not so active, would they see that I have a knew problem and that would scare them away? Would they stupidly make it out to be much more than it really is and think they wouldn't want someone like me, even when they are not that active themselves? I'm afraid I will be treated like a leaper.

If I take it out of my profile, then I guess I go back to telling them in the first or second email, when they throw all of these sports at me that they want to share with me. But if the guy isn't as active, then I won't have to even bring it up.

I don't know. I'm just so sick and tired of telling guys about what I can't do, only to have them reject me and leave after an email or two. I can't decide if I should post my knee problem in my profile or not. The feet are not being mentioned. Most everything that the feet limits, the knee limits anyways.

What do you think? What would you do?

I've been there! I have a disabling condition and can't be active.
This is a personal decision, I think it's really up to you if you want to mention your knee issue on your profile or after being messaged. What you could do is simply put you're not interested in participating in hiking, skiing, biking etc. but enjoy these other activities. Although I know how it feels to be ignored/rejected after explaining your limitations. Mentioning your knee issue on your profile might be best to eliminate anyone who would be scared off by any physical limitations. I think any guy that will be scared away by a knee/feet issue isn't worth your time. Bottom line is, there will be guys who won't care so much about your issue and will care more about whether or not they're compatible with you.

Take what you read on an internet dating profile with a grain of salt, many people at least exaggerate anyway. I wouldn't reject someone for having a problem like a bad knee if I thought we were otherwise compatible, but I'm in London so we don't do much outdoors stuff other than walking because traffic and public transport can be a problem.

Thanks for your responses. Right now I'll keep it mentioning my knee and see how things go. I haven't been getting the type of guys I want anyways without mentioning it. It probably couldn't hurt if it did. We'll see.

Online dating is aggravating me. Everyone guy I read plays all of these sports. It makes me feel like I'm not good enough for any of them because I can't keep up with them physically. So I don't approach them. And it seems like the only ones that contact me I'm not attracted to them at all or they don't fall close into what I'm looking for in a guy.

That does sound aggravating but never consider yourself not good enough for people... they have different interests, so what Many people simply wouldn't choose to do those kinds of activities... bad knee or not! I'm sure some of these men probably create an interesting dating profile - what they think women would want to see and would find interesting and attractive. Maybe half of them enjoy hiking, biking, etc., but they aren't nearly as physically rigorous as their profile suggests. Maybe they're just trying to impress potential dates! Just continue to be honest with them and don't let your limitations make you feel negative about yourself
