Ask him why he logs off.I have but one lamp by which my feet are guided, and that is the lamp of experience.
...
Shall we gather strength by irresolution and inaction? Shall we acquire the means of effectual resistance by lying supinely on our backs and hugging the delusive phantom of hope, until our enemies shall have bound us hand and foot?
From a speech by Patrick Henry on March 23, 1775 at St. John's Church, Richmond, Virginia -
I'd suggest if he "keeps doing it" he is probably avoiding you, as you fear. You have two real options, a) try and find out why b) find another 'friend' as this one might no longer be interested. That's rather harsh I know, but you want to avoid tying yourself up in knots about the fact. Be honest with yourself though, is it 'every time' or has it just happened twice? I only say that, as it could just be bad timing...
Personally, I'd send a happy, non accusatory email/message to him. "Hey, everything OK, we seem to keep missing each other. How are things with you, feels like it's been ages" sort of thing. Then give him a few days (if he's a Facebook every day sort of person) to reply. He may be finding the right words to tell you what he needs to?Comment

That only happened a few times... lately when im online he keeps logging online/offline and then when I finally logged off he logged off is it possible he's just trying to get my attention?
I plan on sending him a msg on facebook soon as his cell reception blows just like you said, is everything ok hows your summer going?Comment

I would imagine if he was avoiding you there would be no logging on, then off. There would only be, " off-line" even though he is on-line watching.... Then, you state when you log off, he logs off, that means you are going "off-line" but still on-line, seeing what he is going to do next, yes?lately when im online he keeps logging online/offline and then when I finally logged off he logged off
It sounds as if, you aren't even saying "hi" on his page, how are things, etc.. Rather both of you are checking what the other is doing, and it could be nerves, like she doesn't even say hi.
Can you elaborate more therefore please

Do you mean since we are both online "watching" it could getting on his nerves that im not talking and saying hello? could this logging on and off during various occassions be just to get my attention?I would imagine if he was avoiding you there would be no logging on, then off. What I mean when I say he logs on and off multiple times when im online during various times and then off for good after I log off... I wait about 5-10 minutes to login from my blackberry to see if he still online just wondering if this is a message for me to be giving him more attention? but shouldn't why can't he be the one to start contact?Comment
-
See, he could be doing things, people are writing something and so he logs on to read it, as he gets notification, then logs off again.. Until the next one.
Or like I said, as if you are off-line you can still read what people are saying, go on-line and post and off again.
Honestly, it could be any reason, and trying to find the answer is not going to happen by guessing at all.
Why not just leave him a message and see what happens.
In today's world, in my opinion there are no rules of "who should instigate" if there were, I'd not be engaged today

What if it's his internet connection?
If he wanted to appear offline to you, and only you, forever and ever, on Facebook chat, he could. It's unique that way. You can decide who sees you and who doesn't - you can appear offline to entire groups of your friends as well as individuals. Since he hasn't done this, I have to assume he's just not paying attention.
Nature gives us shapeless shapes,
Clouds and waves and flame,
But human expectation is that love remains the same,
And when it doesn’t, we point our fingers and blame.
Register|Contact Admin|Email Admin
Comment

Well, I had texted him wednesday with no reply and messaged him on facebook with no reply doesn't even show "seen" yet. I do know he has bad cell service but the thing is he was making an effort to talk to me and show interest and make up for our bad patch we had a few years back. When he first moved back here in april he said he was doing a lot of the first contact but when he wasn't contacting me as much I started contacting him and he'd only start contacting me when I made the first move and sometimes he wouldn't follow through on the conversation. but this time around he doesn't seem to reply at all. I could possibly be getting him at bad times I know he's started a new job and is trying to "get ahead"/going to the gym after work but I don't want to waste my time looking like a fool. if you were me, would you just ignore him or send him another message and saying what?Comment
