Good for you, Magnetism. See where it takes you.I have but one lamp by which my feet are guided, and that is the lamp of experience.

Shall we gather strength by irresolution and inaction? Shall we acquire the means of effectual resistance by lying supinely on our backs and hugging the delusive phantom of hope, until our enemies shall have bound us hand and foot?

It just goes to say we shouldn't assume that someone is interested just b/c they take awhile to text back. This should be interesting to see how women may act differently than men when it comes to pursuit. I'm okay with just remaining friends or finding out that she may not be into women. Doing something new is fun as it is!"Dating is like slow dancing. Let the man lead, or you will fall all over your feet"Comment

It could be argued that his is stereotyping, I agree, and it would be a tenable argument. However, based on personal observation I believe it to be true. JNS did say 'most' not 'all', so personally I would call this generalizing, as opposed to stereotyping. This is a very stereotyped view on lesbian relationships. Its not that way at all. I've seen all different types and just because someone appears butch on the outside, that does not automatically mean they are possessive and will get mad. Just like heteosexual relationships, men don't automatically get angry if somebody hits on their girlfriends just because they are a man."The greatest enemy will hide in the last place you will ever look" Julius CaesarComment

Try and be less sensitive; I'm of the belief that fear of failure and rejection is responsible for holding more people back from succeeding than anything else.JNS-lol, my friend (who has lesbian friends) think that it's much easier to meet gay people than straight people. Since she's not in the scene, she may not fully understand what it's like. In fact, all of the people I've met that think it's easy for 2 bisexual woman to meet are straight men and women. Lesbians and bisexual women share the same opinion as I.
It's actually a blessing in disguise that the pretty girl didn't respond to my text, because I had a gut feeling that the two people (a straight guy and another girl) came off as shady. I still asked her out for curiosity, but I'm over the initial feel of rejection. Things happen for a reason."The greatest enemy will hide in the last place you will ever look" Julius CaesarComment

buddhaboy-This woman actually did say she wanted to hang out, if you read my last post.
I just made a faulty assumption.
With same-sex dating, can anyone clarify that the LGBT community is less judgmental about casual sex and having it too soon? I see a lot of LGBT women saying that that they're okay with casual sex and long-term relationships online, but you wouldn't find a lot of straight women advertising that when they're trying to attract men.
With the opposite sex dating, I feel like there's too many rules for the women. Don't make the first move. Don't mention your intentions right away. Don't do this or that to scare him off... At least with dating the same gender, you get to break some of those rules! I admit I'm hypocritical myself. I wouldn't mind telling a woman my bra size or my sexual preferences if we were chatting about going on a date, but I would be offended if a man asked me those same questions right away."Dating is like slow dancing. Just an update-The date went well, but I didn't feel she was too interested. She seems more curious and my gut feeling is that it's probably best not to get involved. We had fun though! I do notice I tend to be more relaxed with women. With men, I don't know what to say at times and just automatically feel guarded. It's like there's a lack of emotional connection with them.
And, I have another date with a different woman this coming friday! Yay."Dating is like slow dancing. Let the man lead, or you will fall all over your feet"Comment

I wish you the best of luck. I have been out and dating women for 7 years now and still have the same issues. I am not butch by any means and I am attracted to girls who actually look like girls (strange concept, I know :P). It is very difficult to find a decent, good-hearted, faithful lesbian.. Let-alone one who is feminine. But it IS possible. At least that's what I'm still telling myself ha.
Oh, and I can say, from being around the lesbian community for so long, most of the girls who claim to want FWB or sexually open relationships are mainly talk. So there's a little bit of hope there.
Anyway, hope the date went well and don't give up.Comment

I know it is an old post but just wanted to add that I am in the same predicament. I am a curious female and find it very difficult to meet other girls. I also chat with girls online but when it comes to meeting in real life 90% of them disappear. It is very annoying.
And since I started persuing girl, it made me appreciate guys efforts to find sane mates
