    What would you do?

If your boyfriend told you that they loved you very much and gave you permission to pursue romantic or sexual relationships outside of your primary relationship while they would refrain from seeking affection from other women would you accept their invitation? Lets assume that your boyfriend is not insecure but rather has a more liberal worldview.

Can I ask how long you two have been together?

There are fetishes which include being excited knowing your lady is with another.

There could be a test on his behalf as well, as to your reply.

This is just a scenario. I have no personal investment but recently I have become acquainted with more and more people who reject monogamy.

I would question why he would allow his partner to pursue other relationships while limiting his involvement would be with her only. Is there a physical impairment that would preclude this?
That which we forget may as well never really happened.

I would question why HE would even mention it IF he truly loved his partner. Same could be said for her as well.

I believe, right or wrong, that too many are becoming increasingly desensitized to life (scandal, love, sex, violence, cruelty, joy, etc.). Look at entertainment, porn, the news, etc. It takes increasingly rude, crude and deviant behaviors to generate a reaction and get attention. We walk around feeling dull and dead seeking some way to feel alive again.

In an effort to bring some feeling into relationships that are painfully superficial or routine, people sometimes resort to extreme measures. Introducing extra partners into a relationship is one such measure. My limited experience working with poly-amorous couples suggests it is just a route to ending the relationship (intentionally or not). Spreading "love" to more than one person indicates there is probably a lack of connection to the primary person.

Of course, those who wish to practice in this lifestyle will probably say otherwise. I have my doubts that both parties genuinely agreed to the arrangement rather than one just going along for fear of losing their partner.

I would definitely object to this. I wouldn't want to be with someone other my mate. In my opinion, it's just wrong.....
