Men are kind of funny when it comes to how soon to get back to a potential girlfriend. If they listen to others, they may not get back right away. If they are uncertain if they want to go forward, it may be even later

Using my experience over many years, I've found that if you truly want something that you have to act on that desire right away or the opportunity may have passed by the time you get everything lined up. So prepare ahead of time and with no concrete plans in place. It took me years to really appreciate that.

He may still get back to you, but don't use that as an excuse to put your life on hold.
I have but one lamp by which my feet are guided, and that is the lamp of experience.

I have no intention of focusing only on him. The reason why I liked him is because I felt really good after the date. Out of all of the dates I've been on this year, this is the first man that I felt sexual attraction AND someone that fit a lot of my preferences (educated, close to my age, polite, cultured, etc). He may not be the right guy, but he showed me that my type exists and I should just stick with what makes me feel good. It's frustrating when you feel empty after a date that you have no chemistry with. To be open-minded, I have accepted dates from several people that weren't my type. Yet, nothing happened.

These experiences just reinforces that dating someone that's not my type doesn't work for me. Chasing and pursuing men doesn't work for me either, as it's just not my personality. I can come off as awkward, and men can sense that. All of the men that really liked me had no problem speaking up and asking me out on a date. I would rather do what makes me comfortable.

Chandler's wish, it might be a blessing in disguise that he didn't text back. There were a few "comments" that he made on the first date:

"My family and I don't get along with each other. We don't even talk. There's always conflict." Yes, some families suck. But, are you also going to treat your girlfriend the same way? Not talking to her and not knowing how to work out conflict?

"I like to move from state to state. I get bored of staying in one place." Nothing wrong with that, but what if you get married and have kids? Are you saying you can't commit to stability?

"I'm going to sue other companies out of greed and revenge." Maybe he has a legit reason, but will he act greedy and vengeful towards his own partner?

"I didn't get along with a lot of people in graduate school. I had a personality clash." Understandable, but I'm pretty easy-going with most people. I would also like someone that knows how to get along and be considerate to others.

Good for him for being up front but I see a lot of red flags in his statements, same as you do.

I didn't want to jump to conclusions, but since I don't have the opportunity to go on a second date or get to know him more-It's fair to look more into what he said and just realize that he's not the right fit.

I'm going to sue other Companies out of Greed and Revenge?

                Sheez, .........................

This guy does not sound like someone who can belong to anyone but himself, too much revenge in his thought pattern over life, possibly his family to start with and it goes from there, probably been jilted as well many a time...

He just had the right words at the right time once, then showed his true colours but then he had shown them before and you are reflecting on that, on those statements and know in your heart you would have been chasing for love from him and feeling in-adequate when it would have been him, not you.

When you're clouded with sexual attraction ,it can be hard to take these statements seriously. I have had a history of going after people that didn't treat me nicely, so maybe this was just a test from the universe. Here's to hope that the right person is on it's way.

LOLS!!!!!!!! Lust will do that every time (but) we have to honestly read the warning signs that we are given as well, as lust does happen a lot more than "love".. So there are more opportunities in my opinion to find lust and not so much baggage.

Sorry I missed this. I find that just checking posts doesn't cut it, we really have to go into the sections we write in to ensure we don't miss a post.... Which I did.............

In a general sense, we men are told that we shouldn't look too desperate, so we tend not to text back right away.

BTW, to all women, playing hard to get doesn't work!! If you like a guy, tell him! If we like you we will pursue (as long as we're right in the head )

Don't go to the extreme of texting every 20 mins either or generally becoming clingy. But playing hard to get and waiting for the guy to make the move usually means he won't, because we're trained to think that a girl that ignores us is usually because she's not interested in us.
