When a man doesn't text back: Not interested?

I went on a great date with a man. He texted me how he had fun when I got home. I fell asleep, so I texted him the morning after on how I also had fun. I didn't hear from him. So, I assumed that he probably wasn't interested. I talked over the situation with a therapist that I see for my general upkeep, and she said "Why does he have to be the one that asks you for the date? why not text him back? I have a lot of male clients that say they like to be pursued by women." While I'm against doing this kind of thing, I texted him again just to see if he would respond or not. He did not respond, which has confirmed my initial feeling.

Do you think a "no response" to a text is a surefire way of a man not being interested, or would you recommend the woman to keep texting? I understand someone might be busy or forget, but I'm a general believer of the "He's just not that into you" tips. Have any men on here forgotten to text a date that they really liked, and started a relationship with a woman that kept texting them?

When a man is into you and wants to treat you special, I think it's pretty apparent through their actions. There won't be a need to "wonder" or be left hanging.

LOL! I texted him today "Have you ever been to this place? (a beautiful hiking spot)" He replied a few hours later, "No, but we should go if you're up for it. I heard it's really beautiful. How are you?"

I do have a bad habit of assuming that people aren't interested and writing them off. I will admit that. Perhaps maybe it was a good idea to text him?

Well, based on his reply "we should go", "how are you"... He's interested

I think a man likes an assertive woman, well I know he does, from past experience.. But, he also likes not being sure . Your text to him was perfect, as it was a comment that made him have to make a decision in his / your favour and he did but good

Strange, but men have to "think" first on how to reply as not to lose as they are aware that there are plenty of fish in the sea and they have to answer correctly.

It was a great idea to text him.

That saying " treat them mean to keep them keen" doesn't mean, be nasty, it means by all means, be assertive make a move, then sit back and let them make 3

          And so on.................

That's clever. I know he's very busy with his own business, so that could be a factor. I have heard that men tend to focus on one thing at a time, and aren't multi-taskers like us women.

In general, I would say my female friends are much quicker to respond to texts than my male friends.

Thank you, jns. I'm back at square one. I texted him back to say when I'm free for the next date, and didn't hear back. I do suspect he might be ADHD-ish. I don't want to be the one that always has to remind someone to organize dates. If someone wants to see you, they will put in the effort.

Men may like assertive women, but women also like it when the man can take the initiative too.

I agree with you there. If he was interested he would have booked a day of when you two can hang out again.

If I like a girl, I'll ask for her and I to hangout sometime and try to set a day that works for both of us. Usually on the weekends....

I will admit, I DO like when a women is a bit assertive too. I hate doing all the work, but in no way do I want the girl to feel like she has to do everything too.

Some assertiveness is good, but if you go to far with it, you'll end up looking needy. Move on. If he comes back around and you just want to hang out and have a good time, do it, but don't sweat it. Maybe he's just busy.
