Honestly don't stress out and be crying yourself to sleep that is no way to live seriously. It does sound like he is trying to protect you and if he needs to deal with these problems on his own then let it be. In the mean while, since you have graduated I don't know if from hs or college but try finding a focus. Think about what career you want to get into and find a way to go about it. You got to try and keep busy, go to the gym, pick a hobby. If you really care about him and he really cares about you respect his wishes the last thing you wanna is to be pushy.
