need advise about in laws trying to run our lives.

I am 24 years old and have been engaged to my hubby for 3 years. But have been together for 7. It all started when his parents decided to move to south TX. I didn't know what to do but I knew if I wanted to be with him I would have to leave my family and my home town to do so. So I did for 3 and a half years. Then the business got sold and we were forced to move again, but only this time we lived out on our own with out his parents living a quarter mile away. They bought a resort a state away but still they controlled everything in our home. From what shrubs to plant to how we lived. After a year we were forced to move again cause they said so. The house was in there name so we had no chose but to move. Only this time I was sick of it and moved back to TX to care for my aunt. He of course did not follow. He move to MO with them. He was promised a house. Well instead they put him in a RV to live until the neighbor can no longer pay for his morgage and is forced out. That way they can buy the house from the bank. But for me while I'm in TX, after 3 months I missed him so badly that I went a head and swollowed my pride and moved to MO to be with him. May I remind you that the location of the RV is sitting on there land. So they come and go as they please without any notice at all. They recently told us to park in a certain place. They go and bring us food without knowing what it is. By the way I failed to mention that they have animals out here that we are suppose to care for. They have goats that have been climbing all over my truck and scratching up and that won't pay for the damages. I feel that they are trying to control our lives and even the way we live all because we are on there property. I had 3 cats I loved as if they were my kids on the ranch we had to move from. And because I wasn't getting payed but for cost of living I could not bring them with me. I had to get rid of them. Not only did I do this once but because we want to be rid of this situation I am forced to do it again. Unless I find a cheap sitter for a few months at a time I have to. I feel I shouldn't have to give up something I love because of this situation he put us in. I tell him that because I love him so much I have to do this. Right now is is over the road training to be a trucker. So everyday for a month his parents have come over to help with the business. The resort is shut down for the season and they have nothing better to do but come and help with the other business. But still when my fiance is here they call first. Since he's been gone they just show up. To me that's telling me that they want to find me here with someone else. I tell my fiance over the phone that they are driving me crazy and has leaded me to depression. I feel like I have too Monster-In-Laws to put up with. Please help me find someway to cope with this anger I have for his parents.....

Is it really as bad as that?

They are investors, business people, so they wheel and deal.. At present the RV is probably in their eyes " ok ".. If you were married and had a baby, I doubt they would even consider it...

The goats are theirs, the land is theirs, can you get a cover for the truck, to put over?

Are they actually coming to check that you are ok? As, apposed to "checking up on you?"...

How do they actually treat you when they talk to you? Condescending? Or nice?

What you really want is a life of your own, with your man and rightly so, don't get me wrong so why does he have the necessity for handouts persay, can you both not rent a place together and develop a life of your own?

Do you work? Or, have a career path you want to follow?

If not, you may also be a bit lost as you give up things over and over, for a man and have nothing you can call your own.

No there is a lot more to tell. The business they had in south TX I did work for them. The business they have now I work for them. But since I am with there only son that still talks to them they smother me. They have been so over bearing to me it's driving me crazy. They give me smart *ss remarks about everything. They treat me as if my fiance picked me up off a street corner. No my fiance is going to be trucker so he can get us out of here asap. his brother desserted them because they were trying to run there lives and now because of that he is no where to be found. I try to look at things on both sides. Don't get me wrong I love them to death but sometimes I can't tolerate them. Oh the checking on me.... before my fiance left my mother in law pulled me aside and told me something. Something I can never forget. She told me" you know Dustins going to be gone weeks at a time? So you better not stuff up!" What does that tell you. I wanted to slap her. What doesn't hurt our relationship, makes it stronger. We are looking for houses to move into near my family. I tell my fiance that it's my turn to live near my family. Plus they would NEVER treat him badly. What goes on in our life is our business. His parents are like stink on fart...if you know what I'm saying...although if it wasn't for them I would of never learned how to clean wild game. It was hunting ranch that we lived on in south TX. I loved it, but I hated the situation. If they come in the house they ask me why a pile of dishes are there. I have to keep the house spotless, that way I don't hear anything from them. As for the food and such. I was raised to be thankful for what I have or get because we were so poor. They only do that because they can not afford to pay us for the work we do. I say if your going to pay for our food, at least take us with you so we can get the food that we will actually eat. Or give us the money so we can get whatever we want. I want to go to collage to be an animal official. Once we get out of here and get married I will. Probably this next semester. Have you ever seen the movie Monster-In-Law? That's how they treat me behind his back. I knew my sister in law before I knew my fiance. Way back when we were kids. I grew up with her, it's funny how we would end up as legal sisters. But she would tell me some things about what they would do or say to her that was un believable. When I first met his mom, she pulled me aside and asked me if we were using condoms. We were friends then. We didn't get together until 2 years later. And every month she asks me if I'm pregnant...not in a good way. She tells me when we get married and start our family she's never going to see us again or her grand children. What kind of rubbish is that?

Monster-In-Law lol.. Sorry yes I have but that was funny.

Well, seems in her eyes you aren't good enough but then nobody is because she seems like a conieving witch, who is a control freak.

The good think is that your Finance knows this and is doing something about it and that you will be moving closer to your family which is a more loving environment.

Let's face it... If she has stated that once you are married and have a child she will not see you both or your grandchildren ever again, that sounds really like a "good thing".....

I am going to say something...

I know we were bought up to "respect our elders" and so there are ways of doing things.

Next time she tells you off for not doing the dishes, smile and say to her, "thanks for that, now if you don't mind I'm taking a shower" and walk off.

It is not her right and you do not have to conform to her.. She is not your Mother and she does not have the right to control you...

As for the food I have no idea what to say, it seems like she will do what she wants anyway and again she is just controlling the issue... This food is what she wants you to have so bad luck.

I wish you could just get out of there now.. But, I understand that you can't as you are on her property and if you get too narky she will probably ask that you leave.

        Is there a plan B?

In-other-words, if this was to happen what would you do? You need a Plan B because if that was me, unfortunately at some point I would lose it and tell her to mind her own business.

The thing is you can't tell them anything. To me rich people are evil and curuped by greed. I have been thinking about it. The neighbors I mentioned eirlier are the best I've ever met. They are very kind, cool and excepting. My in laws want them to fell so badly I can understand it. All he wants to do is buy that house. Just last week while my neighbors were in town, a truck went through there living room. Luckily no one was hurt. But since my in laws know we hang out they ask me questions about it. Then he tells me that he doesn't want my niebor to borrow none of his * or unless he wants to rent it from him. My neighbors have helped us out personally, and we try to do the same. They are such great people, I hate to see that happen to my inlaws for they will have a cow. It would be the other way around with them.... My sister in law got pregnant with my fiance's brother when she was only 15. They now have 3 and then my in lwas tried there best to tell her how to raise there kids. That's why they did what they did. My fiance's brother and him don't talk because he knows that my fiance lives close to there parents. That's all there is, is the 2 boys. How can you run off your oldest son and not see why. You would think they would learn there lesson and give us more freedom. We are having to take the fall from what his brother did to them. Like I said I try to see things from both sides of the cake. His parents are smothering us maybe because they don't want to loose him the way they lost there other son.
