More likely he's afraid they'll scare you off or embarrass him. You know we parents stay up nights thinking up new way to embarrass our kids, especially in front of anyone they like. LOL.

Talk to him about it but I'll bet this is it even if he loves his family.

        Play your cards love.....

The ones where he has no choice but to do so or not, win or lose... Because his Mum has already said "come upstairs" so:-

Say to him, " It's you I am going out with not your family and they will love me and me them, so either you introduce me to them or I'm leaving, it's simple, or are you embarrased of me?"..

That's a hard call but you cover everything in that sentence I think... and if he ignores that as well, don't see him for a few days and let him realise what it would be like without you in his life...

2 years is a long time yes, but you are both young and maybe he has older brothers for instance that don't think you should have a girlfriend at his age and would teeze him...

There are lots of reasons, point being is you have to get him to tell you why, it could be valid and maybe you would accept it a bit longer, if only you knew why.
