My Friend Seems To Have Changed alot.. :(

We have been best mates all our lives, her mom has always been stricked with her and never let her go places. She Used be a great laugh, well she still is now but differently.

She don't care about anything else apart from herself and going to the pub and getting drunk, she says that all that makes her happy. She used to say that she would never touch a fag in her life, now she smokes loads. she said that she would never touch drugs, and now she smokes weed alot.

Now she is like this, its hard to go out with her an have a laugh because she is just so different to how she used to be. She has got so much attitude towards people. she is so clever but she is wasted it because she cant be arsed to do anything apart from the shop job she has.

but the thing is what do i do? do i say something, or do i carrying pretending everything is okay?

    xx

Ask her if everything is ok. Maybe she's unhappy and this is how she's dealing with it. If she was raised really strict, she could just be letting loose for the first time in her life, in that case it's probably just a phase.

she is obviously hanging around a different group of friends..she is trying to fit in with them..as "sourpuss" says it may be a phase that will pass..try to be the same friend you were to her before..perhaps she will realize that she is not being herself..it's really up to her to return to the person she once was, but it may take some time..good luck with her..

I agree with these statements a lot. I was raised very, very strictly and within the lats few months (since I became the legal drinking age) I have let loose in a big way. I started smoking, drinking a lot, sleeping with a couple of men and even smoking pot from time to time. The thing is though, I am aware of why I am doing these things. For me, it's not just that I was raised strictly, it's everything I have been through since the beginning of this year.

        1) Rape.
        2) Devastation from a break up.
        3) My mother being suicidal.

I've really let my inhibitions go and have began living on the edge. I know this though. That is something positive. If I really want to, I can change this. I probably should change this.

        Just ask her.

i agree with the others! maybe you do need to talk to her about her big change.i was also raised in a strict family. itrned to drinking ,smoking andeverything else.it took for my true friend to come to me and let me know thaat ive change. i was depressed from alot of things that went on in my childhood and growing up and thats how i delt with it.
