My uncle is gay, and I think he knew from a young age. Being gay back then was much less accepted- he was kicked out of the house. I think most people would suggest waiting a while to make a definite decision and start broadcasting it to everyone you know, because if you end up changing your mind that might be difficult, and you might cause yourself more trouble than you really need. There are definitely still hardships for homosexuals in today's society. I think some of the other posters mentioned they had kind of an exploratory phase, so I suppose that is possible.
You are young- no need to rush things! I didn't have sex in high school, and my doctor told me that it would be best to wait until after college, since there is plenty to worry about in college besides sex, pregnancy, or stds! I listened to her, and I think her advice saved me a lot of trouble!Comment

I guess I rushed things to fast and let my brain get ahead of me. I hope its not just a phase, but it may be. I plan on letting time tell me.
I want to wait until I'm out of high school, but I'm not always in good control of my actions. But I plan on using protection just in case something did happen. An when I'm in High School, I plan on being on birth control pills.Comment

Maybe it's just me and the way that I was raised but I don't think that sexual activity should be promoted at such a young age, 13 in fact. As for the mother saying she won't believe you until you've had sex with a woman... I find that appalling. It seems like she s promoting sex without thinking of the consequences.
I do understand that you are young and are trying to find your sexuality out and that's natural. I just don't think that sex is something that should be taken lightly. There are so many things that can go wrong. Pregnancy and STD's being two of them.
I agree with what Tex said. I don't think that you need to have sex with a man/woman to know that you like one or the other. I've been had sex with men and I love that but am still very attracted to women. I've never had full on sex with a woman but that doesn't stop me from knowing that I like them, that I'm attracted to them and would do it.
Don't rush into anything and most importantly, be careful.[CENTER][I][COLOR=purple][B][FONT=Garamond]"All the beats and melodies keep realities at bay but what happens when the records done and starts to fade away? You know, at 13 we see "fashion", on women, in magazines and in real life.. Gilrs at an early age take care of themselves and like clothes that look "hot" and hair that is looking good...
We are good looking creatures
I think it's normal to look at boys as "grose" in that department at that point and lets face it all they care about is what they can get from a "girl" they are not ready for a relationship...
So in-other-words, you may be experiencing the diffence purely of "girls and boys" and how you see them and mixing that up therefore, with liking girls more.
If you found that guy to be smelly etc, then seriously he was
You two did what ever you did, after school for-instance, when he spent all day, moving and sitting and sweating down there, etc... It's actually not like that when your older, there is a definate acknowledgement from a guy to ensure he has had a shower before "DATING" .. Unless he just wants some and you will have to gage this, use your female intuition.
Mum's comments of "unless you sleep with a girl", in her mind she doesn't think you will and so my mum for-instance, used to tell me at your age, that having sex hurt so much to try to scare me from having it, it worked until the end of highschool..
You may find you do later in life, like girls more or that actually you just think females have the better personalities/bodies/clothes & hair and that's all it was, a perception of the two different sexes.

I think it's that, and my mom really doesn't answer any of my questions.
My mom thinks that because she's never had sex with a woman, means I won't. She thinks whatever she hasn't done, I won't do. Just because that's how her mom raised her.
She does promate sometimes, and I don't think she relizes it. She just says stuff and expects me to go along.
I defiently want to wiat until after high school before sex, that way if I do get pregnat or STD, I more than likely won't have to drop out of school.
I will try to be careful and not do anything crazy.Comment

Its perfectly normal.I know my sexual orientation at my age already.but people figure that out at different ages. I know someone who was 30 when she finally figured out that she wanted to be a lesibain.and there is nothing wrong with that.but don't rush into having sex just because u want to know what u want.trust me...if anyone can talk some sense into you about having sex at an early age,it will be everyone here.I know from a personal experience.that's why I joined the forum. Good luck!
