I don't think you'll ever regret walking away from such a situation. You, being the wiser one here have thought enough about this situation that you'd post it on here for advice. Kudos to you. She, however, is still there....she's weak and he will continue to hurt her but at least now her pain won't be partially in your hands. The important part is that you realize no relationship is better than that kind of relationship.

This happened to me....except she didn't know. He was my ex, had cheated on me with her which caused us to split. Then he began cheating on her with me.......and it felt good like I was "getting her back" at first. Then it became degrading and hurtful. because somehow in the beginning I thought he'd come back.......and he tried many times, but I finally realized that whether or not she was in the picture, I didn't need a man like him. I took control of ME again....of MY life.....and said "you do whatever you want with yours......but it won't be with me!". I've never regretted it. And I don't think you will either.

Stay away.......give him no pleasure of hearing from you, or even the inclination that you still have any feeling for him whatsoever, whether you do or not. He does not need to know.

      closure

The man I was in a relatonship with and I decided we needed to have closure
This we did over the telephone because the girlfriend could not stomach us doing it in person.

It turned out to be a very good thing. We started off with me expressing what I felt hurt and angry about to clear the air. He explained why he spoke to me the way he did the day I ended it which had nothing to do with his true feelings for me.

We then talked about all the good things, experiences and feelings we shared over the years. There were a lot. This to me is to be our last contact forever. It's hard to predict forever but at least puts me into no contact mode with him.

The closure left me with good feelings between him and I and helps me let go
