long distance love...how to let go

there is a man that I met online and each step we took we felt more and more for each other. then when we met in person it was pure majic! love at first sight! I never experienced anything like it in my entire life.

but the problem was he lived far away from me but yet we kept our romance alive for 7 months. Now he says he still loves me and thinks about me. He's not looking for anyone else. I told him I feel the same way but he is still far away.

I don't feel like he is going to ask me to marry him although he wished he had at one point. so, how do I let go of this and forget him when I love him so much????

Why would you want to let go if it is working? I know LDRs are difficult to maintain, I am into one. I have to be honest, it is very challenging. But if you love someone, you are going to do anything to make it work - unless, the other party is no longer interested, which I hope is not the case for you, emily100.

So tell us what compels you to feel this way?

      Emily, what's going on?

Is this the "boyfriend from a year ago?"...

You need time out... no boyfriends/nada/nothing....

Your talking about him, and in another thread about the 3 way relationship you just ended, and then boy (A), (B), & (C).

My head is spinning from all these men in your life, ..

And, I am guessing that your must be spinning as well.

Chandlers Wish, This is not the boyfriend from a year ago. This is a different man. I can understand why your head is spinning. I do tend to draw a lot of men into my life. But this man is the most special to me of them all! I won't even go into the new men in my life. But this is the man I love who loves me above all else.

Well, you've tried dating various guys which usually assists in letting go but obviously that's not working huh

When you say long distance, "how long", hours wise?

Would he not move closer or you move closer to give this romance a proper shot?

He lives about 1200 miles away. Moving right now would be difficult for me. There's alot involved but I'n not saying I wouldn't. There's also the question of the final destination as he is not going to stay where is at very long.

How much time have you actually spent together?

Simple: don't let go of him. I've been in a relationship with someone going on sixth months now, met him online, and he lives ten hours away. We get to see eachother maybe every two months. Yeah it's hard, yeah it sucks, but you know what? The times when we are together are so precious to me. And if we are meant to be together forever, then things will work out. But calling it off cuz he is far away even tho you both still love each? Sorry if I seem too forward, but thats completely stupid. Give it time. If it's meant to be it will work itself out. Maybe not as soon as either of you would like, but it will. There is no reason to throw out a perfectly happy relationship.

Good call, Reilu! If you really are for each other, and both are willing to make it work, then distance is not a hindrance. It is indeed a great challenge, but it should not keep you from going.

OK, here's the problem. I have HPV. We have not yet had sex because he is afraid of getting HPV. We have met only once and while we spent the night together we did not have intercourse. Before he moved far away he gave serious thought to staying with me but because I have hpv he felt that we would have to get married because he would get hpv from me. he felt that he knows that he loves me but we don't know each well enough to get married which was very true.

So we have continued to exchange loving and romantic emails and have talked of seeing one another again but as of yet it hasn't happened. This has been going on for 9 months. We have gotten to know each other better via email exchanges and our love and the spark is still very much there but...

I want to see him. I think the only reason we haven't seen one another is because of my hpv...yet I grow weary of not feeling his arms around me and such. that's why I think of cutting ties..
