    Are we invited??

My friend is having a birthday party for her husband. We are good friends with them. She has mentioned family and has mentioned this party more than once to me. I am even going to help her with making the cake and desserts (I like doing that kind of stuff) But I'm not exactly sure if my boyfriend and I are invited or not. She hasn't officially invited us or mentioned a time.

I would directly ask, but I feel like that'd be rude but if it's just an extended family thing, I don't want her to feel obligated to invite us too. But I also don't want to not show up when she was expecting us to come!

    What should I do?

Ugh! That's a tough one. I hate when that happens. Maybe keep that evening open ans see what happens. She may mention something when you get together to make the desserts. If not, you should just say to her what you said here. Just be clear that you're not inviting yourself and understand if it's just family but wanted to be sure so you didn't not show and look like you were blowing them off.

Well you definitely know she's not hiding the party for you. I would say that you would be invited, as you are helping with the cake. She probably forgot to officially invite you, and just took it that you were coming anyway. But just ask her and make sure, tell her you don't want her to feel obliged to invite you, you just needed to make sure.

I would try to slip in the question somehow if this were a family only event.

u could always ask her in kind of a sly way. like wen she is talking about it, mention maybe that someone asked u to drive them somewhere the same day & time as the party. but then say but if she wants u to b at the party she has priority over the other person, ask wat they think? they might tell u that u r invited but the choices is ur choice. idk that is the best i can come up with if u don't want to ask directly, i hate these situations to

Ask her what she is wearing and what "she" expects you all to wear and ask her if she needs a hand with makeup seeing as you've worked it girl

You'll soon get your answer and I hope it's what you expect...

Some people just "expect" that you know without saying.

i think urs is better cause u don't have to say that a non existent friend wants u to drive them some where.......just doesn't seem right u know.
but true true on the clouded thing, honest opinions r the best
                  good luck AG

Take your opportunity when she is talking about the party and say things like, "YOU" guys are going to have so much fun that day...or....Say Hi to (so and so) for me that day will you? That way your making it like your not going to be there, I'm sure by the end of these comments you will know if your invited or not.

                    Good luck
