Jeez. It's a 1 year old baby, as if it cares either way! It's all totally about the mom, isn't it.

Spend a lovely day with your boyfriend. It'll be worth it.

Man, if only her baby were 1 and didn't know what the H a birthday was.....

It does sound a little stingy. I do think it's selfish, especially if you already told her you planned on spending that Friday with your boyfriend. If she scheduled it and told you while knowing that, then she probably knew what she was doing.

I'll jump on the bandwagon and say that you should just spend your boyfriend's birthday with him and enjoy it. You already had to blow him off on Valentine's Day, there needs to be a compromise somewhere.

I hope you have fun and that everything goes over well when you guys talk.

Well, I just told her that I was too busy and that I should spend the day with him. She was cool about it, but totally didn't get that she was being rude. I'll let sleeping dogs lie.

But, of course Murphy's Law had to kick in and literally when the BFs cake was in the oven, he called and said his ex has a friend in town this weekend so his friday semi-surprise party is off. I'm not even going to frost the dumb cake now.

        I don't even know why I bother.

you bother because you are a kind and loving person, i dont think your friend realises how selfish she is being, she doesnt like your boyfriends because (in my opinion) she wants you all to herself and they take away from that!

Well, it really blew up and went bad. I was upset that this woman seems to go out of her way to ruin our plans. It happens a lot. So I was frustrated by the whole thing and he took it as me saying his daughter wasn't welcome to celebrate his birthday. Then went on to tell me I ruined his birthday. Needless to say it all got blown out of proportion and now we're broken up.

Nothing I can do about it now though. It is what it is.

IDK, I"m going to say let the waters calm down and try again, that being how you felt over your friend and allow him to realise he was "wrong" with his thinking that it was his daughter.

So, I think there is something you can do about it...

Fingers crossed for you mam, after all, that is not what happened and he needs to understand what actually happened.

Aww - that sucks! I'm sorry this has happened, but like CW said, hopefully he'll come to his senses!

I'll try tomorrow. I hope we can talk without arguing. (I know I can, him maybe not)
Bad thing is that a few months ago he took over our boxing club and is now my coach.
So I don't know how that will go. Ugh, I hate this.
