    Dating a younger man

Does anyone have any thoughts on dating a younger man? I have been dating my b/f for 1 year now and he is 12 years younger than I am. Over time we have grown to love each other very much and do not want to part our ways over an age issue.

In recent times 'age' has become such a peculair designation.
For example, fifty is the new thirty five.

If you look at women in the 60s, being 35 was like being 50.
A whole segment of your life was over. You were 'old'.
today, obviously, the situation is different.

You will find girls in their early twenties, acting like matrons,
women in their late forties with the outlook of a teenager.

    The calendar can't be trusted.

If I said to you...X is a fifty seven year old woman
you certainly wouldn't expect her to ride a motorcycle,
wear a size three, and understand the outlook of
    high school students.

If I said to you....Y is twenty five, you wouldn't
expect her to dress like a grandmother, have no
shape, and think like a seventy year old.

I say all this to put you in the right frame of mind
to understand that calendar age is irrelevant.

Thanks so much for your advice. I was okay with it but wondered what others thought.

        Married a younger man

I am married to a man that is 10 years younger than me. It has it's advantages and disadvantages....but I love him insanely. I think it is what your heart tells you. If it feels good.....do it! Who cares what anyone else thinks? Everyone I know accepts my marriage and not one person looks at us funny. In fact, I have been told numerous times that we look like we were meant for each other and we "fit" together.

i always thought the man should be older...but then after my divorce, i began getting intimate with a guy 9 yrs younger. i am 27 and he is 18. they are from egypt and young men over there are forced to mature before they even hit 13 because they live in a rough country where its almost eat or be eaten and hold jobs to feed their poor families young too. he evens owns his own business, so i dont feel too bad...i mean, he acts older than my 29 yr old ex!!

Today, the Calendar can not be trusted.
People tend to 'grow' at different rates,
depending where they are in the world,
            and on their outlook.

age is just a number. my brother in law was 20 when he married his wife who was 35 at the time. they are very happy. it seemed to bug her at first but now they seem to have been together forever. i have known 17 yr olds that act like 30 yr olds and 30 yrs old that act like they are 12. its whats inside that counts, not their age.

                Young men

I got to agree with the previous message! Age is only a number and what counts is how mature the person is. I am 29 and I'm with a 23 yr old and he is more mature than others I've dated. I never thought I would go that young, but it has been the best relationship yet.

i personally believe that age does not matter at all, especially when it comes to love. It is just a number.

                    dating younger men

I'm so glad i found this! I am dating a man 18 years younger than me. I tell him he has an old soul! He is more mature at the age of 24 than my 44 year old ex-husband. He is a hard worker, cares deeply for me an my son and is just an excellent person. My friends accept our relationship but our families don't ~ that's the part that is troubling me. I'm dealing with it but it's still hard. My father asked me not to bring my boyfriend to his house. I didn't tell my boyfriend but I did tell him that my parents were having problems with the age difference. He didn't care either ~ he said as long as we are happy that's all that matters and it's true.

                    Thanks every one!
