I'm 40 and my boyfriend is 27. I admit I've struggled with the age difference myself. When we're together, we don't even notice the difference. I think we're both still a little unsure of what our parents will think. Our friends, however, are very supportive.

I don't have a huge problem with age because I do believe maturity differs from person to person. My biggest problem with younger man/older woman is kids. I certainly expect a younger man to want a family one day. As an older woman I already have an 18 year old and I'm not interested in having more babies. Also, I'm not looking for a boy toy but a real relationship with someone regardless of age. So how can you expect to have a long lasting relationship with a young man when inevitably the desire to have kids will be come between us?Comment

Being a young 'older' woman, so do I! We've touched this subject before but we've got a lot of new people here lately. More recently there's been more talk about young women with much older men. I've a theory that since women live longer, if you really don't want to be years alone as a senior it may be better to be with a younger man. You've raised a valid concern about being with one A Lot younger. As a very active 50 something, I've think mid 40s works well. But you're right it depends on the individual. There are 20 somethings that couldn't keep up with me and I know a nearly 80 year old who bicycles 40 miles a day, everyday - I couldn't keep up with him! Not on a bike at least (LOL)Comment
