Is it my place to say something?

Got to see the beau this weekend and I was sooo glad... We got to spend all day together yesterday with no real plans but spending time with each other. It was wonderful

So, here's my question...Most of you know he's going through a divorce. He is still hoping the house will sell but if not, he has repeatedly apologized for the delay and is planning to get this wrapped up soon one way or another...

BUT.... He still has their wedding invitation on the wall. It's in a small frame and I'm sure it's been there forever so he probably doesn't even realize it, but I do... I always see it and I always wonder when he's going to take it down. He took down any pictures that were still floating around of her, so I don't believe he's holding on to something (he took down the pics after our first date). But I also don't want to come across as controlling. I'm not sure how to bring it up or if I'm just thinking too much about it...

"Would you mind if we took down the picture of your old wedding invitation?"

My guess, it'll be down before you got the sentence finished.

Thanks P. I was guessing he probably hasn't even thought about it (the only pics he previously had up were on the fridge so very in your face type thing. This is kinda off to itself.

I just wanted to make sure it didn't sound bad.

        No need to thank me.

If he's anything like me, like you said, he probably didn't even remember it was there.

My wife did some redecorating last week. She got mad at me because I didn't notice it right away. But she doesn't realize that we have so much stuff around our house that the only way I'd notice anything was if it hit me in the face.

Decorating isn't real high on my list of things to be aware of.

We all handle things differently, but I would certainly feel like if I was seriously dating this person, I'd feel a little strange to have to see a wedding invitation of he and his ex wife. I would think if he could take down all the other stuff, he could take down the invitation. So ya, I'd say something...not in a "why is this still here" kind of way, but just a sort of something like Pretzel said.

No it's not, not really anyway.
