Well I'm not sure what type of person your boyfriend is so it is hard to say, but at least I can tell you MY favorite gifts from my girlfriend :-)

We are that cheesy couple who loves our inside jokes an innuendos and as cool as "real" gifts are (like clothes, jewelry, etc..) they are nothing compared to a thoughtful, cheap, CHEESY CHEESY gift that if given to anyone else in the world they would think you were NUTS, but to me it's the funniest, most amazing gift ever :-) . Here I'll give you an example:

My gf and I couldn't spent our anniversary together because she is finishing medical school and I am attending another university and so we had to ship gifts to each other. This is the best gift I've ever gotten from anyone in my whole life and this is what was in my box: A scarf( that she handknitted- I know amazing right?), a hand-written note in a bottle, a pack of peanut mm's, coupons( I won't say what they're redeemable for haha), a miniature ship, and a blank canvas...

See to you guys that may sound stupid but i'll never forget that gift. Best ever.
If your bf is anything like me, it's not about the object but about the sentiment and thought. We were celebrating our relationship and love for each other- so that's what she sent me. Reminders of all the special things to her and me :-)

I agree with the above, it should be something that has meaning! What does he like?

My boyfriend loves cameras and snickers. So, one of his friends once bought a bunch of snickers and glued them together into the shape of a camera. He LOVED it. I'm just upset I didn't think of that first.

What is your budget like? For my boyfriend, I got him a beautiful leather wallet at Macy's -- about $30 -- and then went to Things Remembered and his initials monogrammed. The gift cost about $50 (which is a lot on a student's budget!). He loves it so much.
It's something sentimental but also useful.

Does your boyfriend like anything like that?

Thanks guys, so many new thoughts have popped into my head. i asked one of my guy friends and he also said something that has to do with one of your inside jokes, and i think im going to go down that path. now just to think! i have decided i am going to get him something for his room. he is into sports (futsal) and he likes to be funny. i only want to get him something small, i have a job and im not really on a tight budget. thanks again for all your ideas and if you have any others feel free to comments again i have until friday to get him something.

            An Aussie, huh?

Get a fake tatoo, lol's.. with a nickname of his, or something....

Get a photo of him from his parents that he loves, and one of you that you love of you, and get them combined into one photo.

Then finally, get something very funny that he will laugh over.

That's a bit much I know, cost wise, not a lot, and you can have fun with it all...

Bake him something. A giant cookie? Brownies? Cupcakes?
Make him a CD of songs that make you think of him.

Homemade coupons for backrubs, night out, etc are always fun, cheap and meaningful.

                    Hello
I always had a problem what to buy a boyfriend, well to all the man if I may say. I always find it nice to do something by myself. I am very artistic, so I draw or craft something manly for him. I come across some app, What To Get My Boyfriend, (removed outbound link) I liked it because it asks you several funny questions about relationship and your boyfriend and in the end you get gift suggestions.
