My boyfriend and I are very "country" people. We both own trucks, love country music, he rides dirt bikes, etc... So for our first "special date" with good weather (which will be his birthday in May), I'm planning on either making a dinner or getting him some take out, driving out into a field, and having a picnic with him in the bed of my truck. It's not much, hopefully I'll be able to get him a little something too if I can think of anything... But it's something I know he'd enjoy

        It's depend on your budget.
But I'd prefer a gift from the heart, even it's not expensive or it's really simple.

Wow, this is very late, but if you still need ideas, then I'll share mine. I would suggest your favorite picture of the two of you, and put it in the manliest picture frame you can find. Another idea I think is cute is a collage of pictures of the two of you. It's cheap, and from the heart.

Just a tad late for the OP and her boyfriend. She hasn't been back to the forum since April of 2010 (over 4 years ago). It will be 5 years for her in September, if she is still with her BF.

It really does help to read the date of the original thread or, if you want to start a new thread on gifts to BFs, that's fine as well.

Yrs, we need an update. What did she buy? Did he like it? Did the relationship continue? Are they now married? Children? Inquiring minds want to know.

I tend to just buy him things that I know he likes, I never go towards expensive or fancy because we're the kind of people who are just happy to have each other around. Somethings I'll get him is candy ( Paydays are his fave ), we write letters for each other, or do something as simple as cook him a nice dinner.

Take him out for a nice dinner. Keep in mind that males are pretty simple minded. Don't drop the ball for the 3-S's.......Supper, Support and Sex. Violate those and you can watch the problems pop up. Make sure he knows your requirements as well. It's all about mutual respect. Congratulations and I hope you have many, many more to celebrate.

Can we please stop this nonsense! This is a 4 year old thread. The OP (that would be the Original Poster) has not been back since April, 2010. jns was just having fun . . .

Seriously, if anyone wishes to start a thread for "great gifts to give a BF", I would be happy to participate. But giving advice in a 4 year old thread to a person who will never read it seems, well, rather a waste of time. When people revive old threads, it makes it harder for us to see which threads might actually need a response.
