I met her, Mari, at a family party when I was 15 years old. Ever since then, I have been thinking about her. A lingering presence in the back of my mind sits there thinking about her. We both mutually agree that a deep connection was built and became a force for the both of us until we met each other again 7 years later.
We lived our lives like normal teenagers would. We graduated high school in different states and attend college apart as well. It was common ground to hear teasing remarks from family friends that we should get married. Our communication was slight but only enough to keep a remembrance of our existence.
I joined an Air Force Band and toured the entire world playing guitar going from city to city, country to country experiencing all the beautiful things that the world as to offer. Meanwhile, Mari got a full paid scholarship to a university for Art and dated a classmate for 2 years. I have a feeling it was out of lonesome, just to have someone.
Last year in July, she emailed me to say hi. I think her Aunt suggested her to do that out of curiosity due to the fact that we have been teased to get together since we were 15. We emailed back and forth talked on the phone in a manner that I have not experienced. We got to know each other, our minds and personalities on a deep level. Everything just felt right. I have never felt such a deep vaulting connection like this.
Usually when two people meet to date, they are first attracted physically to each other because they see each other visually first. After the physical attraction is acceptable, they become more familiar with each others personalities and mind second. It was backwards for Mari and I. We fell for each other over the phone because we learned about each others mind and personalities first and became visual with each other second.
Three days before my show in her hometown, she wanted to see me so bad that she flew out to the city that I had a different show in just to spend time with me. It was our first reunion since we were 15 and we were both so nervous and excited. As she was walking out of the airport terminal, my heart just dropped and shattered in happiness. She was MORE than what I expected. She came up to me shaking and smiling all at the same time. I can tell that she fell in Love with me that day. We enjoyed the day holding each other and just looking into each others eyes asking if this dream is real. It felt SO amazing. No drug could ever duplicate how we felt.
I finally arrived at her hometown for the show and her entire family showed up with her. They all sat in the front row and thoroughly enjoyed the show. When I came out into the audience during a song, I handed her a sign that said "I Adore You" in front of 2000 people! The spotlight was on us and everything. Her family enjoyed that.
I flew her out to LA while I was on leave after my music tour so she could meet my family for a week. They just Love her too!
My music tour ended in March 2010 and I moved back to Hawaii to continue my enlistment. We both planned for her to move in with me to start our beautiful life together forever in paradise. We were counting down the days until she moves in and then life just hits you with ONE more when you least expect it...I was tasked for a 6 month deployment to the Middle East just a couple of weeks before she moves in. I had to call her while she was sleeping to tell her the bad news. She was crying so hard and screaming that it is not fair.
I immediately flew her out to me in Hawaii to spend a week with me. It felt like a honeymoon! We spoiled each other with great food, sunsets, beaches and Love. She cried as I walked her to the terminal back to her hometown to finish school. I told her that I will Marry her when I come back if she proves her Love to me by waiting. She told me that she will more than wait for me. She said that she will never meet a man like me, her Love is pure, loyal and undying. She also told me that she could see herself having a baby with me, when we are ready of course. Wow! It seems like she is head over heels.
Before I was about to get on the plane for my deployment, it got pushed back by a week. I thought it would be so romantic to fly to her hometown to surprise her in my uniform at her University. I just wanted to have one last kiss. She called me at the airport thinking that I was on the way to my deployment but I was actually at the airport in her hometown looking sharp in my uniform. I grab a taxi and make my way to her school. It took me 20 minutes to find her class but when I finally did, it was worth it. I texted her before I walked in and said "I just wanted on more kiss before I leave". She replied, "What?! Where are you?" I guess when she read my text, she ran out of the room just hoping that I was crazy enough to be there, just hoping that there was a chance that it could be true. I walked into her class and she was not there. As she walked back into her classroom sad that her fantasy of finding me outside was not real, she saw me standing like a Knight in Shining armor stand in the middle of her classroom with all of her classmates looking at her. She stepped back in shock and could not breathe. She was shaking and her pupils were wide in excitement.
She took me outside and touched me everywhere in disbelief that I was really there. I told her that I had an extra week and wanted to give her one last kiss goodbye. We spent a great week as I met her family, Loving each other and making a promise to each other that we will become engaged when I come home.
Anyways... I have been in the desert now for about a week. I can feel that this time will pass quickly. I only have over five months left! That is not too bad considering most long distance relationships can span years for some people. Although my insecurities are creeping in. Even though she tells me that she in SO in Love with me and wants to marry me when I come home, I keep thinking and re thinking about US. I MISS HER SO MUCH! She texts me right as soon as she wakes up and she desperately Loves me.
What I am trying to get at is... Is this life lasting Love? HER MOM DOUBTS US because we have only really been dating for 5 months.
Does time validate Love??
Will she last six months away from me?
Will her love for me stay strong this whole time? I do not want to lose the love of my life.
In general, are women faithful to the Man that they Love?
How can I keep the passion HOT while I am gone?
Do women need physical Love to stay in Love?
HELP ME REGAIN STRENGTH! I am so in Love that I do not know who I am anymore. I am in the hottest place on the planet for the next 6 months and she is on my mind constantly. She is the only thing that keeps me at peace.
Help.
