If you two are truly serious, why wouldn't you follow him? You'd let the "love of your life" get away because you couldn't leave what's comfortable? Life is about taking risks!!!

Were you planning on staying in the same place forever? You have to live your own life. This could be exciting and who knows, even a better situation for you!

I don't think engagement would change anything. I think the move itself would be an outward sign of our committment. I want us to get engaged because the time is right and I want it to be special, not just because we're moving away with each other. I think the only reason why I have reservations is because I am afraid of what the future holds. I don't like the unknown. What if I don't make friends, what if I don't see him as much as I'd like, what if I'm unhappy, or....what if I am really happy, what if I make great friends, and what if this even strengthens our relationship even further. I guess its all sort of up in the air because we can't predict the future.Comment

I know it's hard. Maybe the question is, could you handle a long distance relationship? This job opportunity sounds like the best thing for him (and ultimately you if you two are serious about a future together). It could lead him to success and financial stability if you two want to get married and start a family. Maybe life is taking you in this direction for a reason (if you believe in that sort of thing). Something might be waiting for you....Comment
