    new female roommate, new challenges

ok, i moved into a new apartment. my employer wasn't giving me enough hours so i decided to try to find a new school to teach at and i got lucky by finding an employer that offered to give me a full time job which is very hard in germany. anyway, i have a new female roommate. i didn't want to deal with the challenges of a new female roommate but there just weren't any rooms available with guys only. with this woman i think things will go slower but i think there will eventually reach a point where problems arise. i admit that i am attracted to her but i can sort of control it and i don't think about her as much as i do the other one. though i have to admit that when i go outside my room i secretly hope that i will see her. i should also add the following amazing irony. she's a student at the school i teach at but she's not one of my students, at least not yet, maybe next month. so i did a pretty good job at ignoring her for the first days and today finally it turns out that she was finally the first one to knock on each other's door. that made me very happy. we actually talked a lot today, perhaps more than we should have. so, here's how i feel about the whole thing. i don't have a real definite plan of action. if she's real eager for a connection and to some intimacy, i don't think i can fight that. i just don't think i can resist it. i don't think i would be happy in a relationship with her because i don't believe in relationships that don't lead to marriage. but maybe i'll just have to change my thinking. 500 years ago you couldn't even choose who you would marry. i'm just going to try to make the most of the situation. if it turns out that she's not interest in a meaningful connection then that's fine too. we'll see what her agenda is as time goes by. i don't have a real agenda.

But you do. You want to figure out if you and her are compatible. It will become obvious you are not interested in just being roommates and that may cause a strained situation. Are you ever just friends with a female who lives close to you?
I have but one lamp by which my feet are guided, and that is the lamp of experience.
    ...
Shall we gather strength by irresolution and inaction? Shall we acquire the means of effectual resistance by lying supinely on our backs and hugging the delusive phantom of hope, until our enemies shall have bound us hand and foot?

If I feel no sexual attraction to a woman, then yes I'm friends with them. My neighbor in America, she's 50, ok, no problem there. My best friend is a woman, by the way, she's 42 but I met her when she was 38. I can't say anything more about her just in case I show her this site. If a woman is above 40, we seem to get a long just great. When she's above 40 there's never any question that I have an ulterior motive so everything is very smooth. And it seems like with woman above 60 I get along doubly fine. I really like people who are above 60. Back when I was about 28 my two best friends were both above 60.

To add to this question, have you EVER had a true friendship with a woman? One in which you didn't secretely desire her, analyze her every move, and hope that she'll fall to your charm? A real friendship?

i don't think i would be happy in a relationship with her because i don't believe in relationships that don't lead to marriage
How do you know after only talking to this new roomate a handful of times, that she is not up to your standards of marriage material? Do you just assume that no woman you meet is going to be marriage material?

Yes...I read it. You were obviously typing it the same time I was typing my post...because yours didn't show up that said that until I posted the question. So there. *sticks my tongue out at smarty pants*

....forgive me for not assuming the native language spoken of your new roomate. lol Your list of criteria for what you consider an acceptable mate is quite extensive...you'll have to excuse us if we forget sometimes.

You ought to get on great with me and CW. Somehow I don't so.

Are you for real? Do you consume illiegal or illicit drugs of any kind? Drink large quantities of alcohol? Do anything else that obviously and/or intentionally alters your mind and your thinking?

I would advise everybody to do a search using this guy's name and see how "diverse" his threads and/or his postings are. It's bizarre!

Some people either have way too much time on their hands and/or spend way too much time alone. Wow!

Correct me if I'm wrong (I've been wrong before...) but did you recently post about couch surfing with a woman who was in her 40's, and you were excited because since she was over 40 you assumed she'd be lonely so you might have a better chance of scoring????

I would definitely have to agree with some of what seeker has said. Your way of thinking is all over the place. I'm confused!

BD - Yes you are correct!

Couch surfing in hopes of getting lucky... No "full sex" before marriage.. Oral sex with prostitutes is not having sex... Hoping to get lucky with a student... Connects better with women over the age of 40+...

Bob you better be careful before you end up wearing a set of handcuffs, outside of the bedroom... Slow down a bit and think about what you're saying...
