It is not your "job" to clean house as a wife. It is your job as a COUPLE to jointly take care of your dwelling.

I understand you don't want to clean. Most of us don't enjoy it, don't look forward to it....matter of fact many of us dread it. But we all do things we dont' want to do sometimes because it's part of being an adult.

I'd suggest sitting down with him and coming up with a plan of chores for both of you. For instance, maybe this month you will do dishes, laundry and clean kitchen and he will clean bathrooms, living room and bedrooms. Set a requirement of doing all these things at least once per week. Do that for a month and switch.

You can't just sit around and let someone else do all the work because you don't "like to do it". He most likely doesn't like to do it either....but he's being a responsible adult and stepping up to the plate. And that's what you need to do.

I have read Ephesians....it does mention husbands and wives in Chapter 5....... but I do not see anything that mentions anything about it being a womans job to clean house. Which part are you talking about?

I believe taking pride in your home and keeping it clean is something that women are taught by their mothers growing up. Never have I read that it is my sole responsibility according to the bible. Christian or not a couple should work together to maintain their home. My husband and I have an understanding, he takes care of the garage and outside property and I take care of the inside. If your husband likes to clean let him clean, it doesn't matter if it's perfect.

i mean it dont say it but i mean we are men helper thats why we are here while men go out and work fo r us we are suppose to keep the huse and keep it clean and do the ifly duties as we are they don want to come home from work and have to clean that is why God created women to help them and keep the company and to have a family with because until women were here adam was lonely so God brought us into this world and he was happy

I'm not here to question your beliefs or tell you how to live your life. But I will say that whether or not you've discovered it yet, there is MUCH more to you than what you just listed above. You are a unique individual with a mind of her own, with the abilities to do many things in this world. Womens roles in society have changed very drastically since the times in which the Bible were written. And thankfully so, otherwise we wouldn't be able to vote, wouldn't be able to speak unless spoken to, would be required to dress in certain clothing, wouldn't be able to get educations and have careers, etc etc etc. Things have changed........ does your husband wear a robe to work every day? That's what men wore in Biblical times. My point is, if you read the Bible, and you believe in it.......then you have to know that marriage is supposed to be a union in which both people honor, respect, and cherish the other. Marriage is not supposed to be a slave agreement. God loves you just as much as He loves your husband........believe it or not. Oh......and "we are here" on this Earth because life couldn't exist without us......we're sort of a big deal.

If you are not working outside the home, and your husband is working outside the home, then it is only fair in my opinion that you work to keep the house clean. You are correct in that if he has worked all day and you are home all day (do you have children), it would be nice if you kept things tidy. However, if you both are working, then you both should do chores to upkeep your dwelling.

If you believe he should never have to life a finger in your alls home........then looks like your only option is to suck it up and get to scrubbing.
