How do I get over him?

I've gotten the picture that my friend guy doesn't want to be more than friends with me. I took it for granted that because he had a crush on me last year that he still does, but its obvious he doesn't. I've gotten a little better, though I still have his number, I completely stopped calling him or meeting up with him on the school campus. I don't want to push him even further away. I feel that if he wants a serious relationship, he'll come around. And, if not, then we're just not meant to be. But, my problem is that though I don't think of him as often as I use to, I still think of him sometimes. I sometimes, feel as though a piece of me is missing. It's kind of like he's my other half. Sometimes I think of him so much, that I dream about him at night. How do I get over him? How do I just forget about the only person that ever made me feel like I even had another half?

What you are going through is normal. Eat healthy, exercise, go out with girlfriends. Take up a hobby or become more involved with one you already have. Most of the time people go through several SOs until they find one where both are clicking on the other. He is missing out on something special, even if he doesn't realize it.
I have but one lamp by which my feet are guided, and that is the lamp of experience.
    ...
Shall we gather strength by irresolution and inaction? Shall we acquire the means of effectual resistance by lying supinely on our backs and hugging the delusive phantom of hope, until our enemies shall have bound us hand and foot?

From a speech by Patrick Henry on March 23, 1775 at St. John's Church, Richmond, Virginia

I don't know what it is, but it seem none of the guys I like are interested. Only the rude guys that only want to take advantage of me are interested, which I don't want.

How long has it been since he decided friends only and how long were you " together " if you were ever together and if you were together was it sexual at all ?

I am asking this because you said Guy Friend not Boy Friend and being on a College Campus is like being in a Candy Store when you have a Sweet Tooth.,for both of you...

Also was there any talk of being "together " or the Future, or was it just kinda a hang out Best friends that Care / Love each other ?

We were friends for 2 years before he lost interest in a relationship. And no we where never together. We never did anything sexual(I'm still a virgin, and he knows it). And I told him I like him, but he said he has thought about us being together but he wasn't too sure about us being in a relationship, because he wasn't ready for one. We were only friends, he never planned out a future with me, I don't think. Well, we never talked about a future together

Sounds like you had a crush on him. That will fade in time. Get out and get busy, meet people, try some new things, study, join a study group. You'll soon find that he fade quite a bit.

Focus on yourself and try to distract yourself with your studies and other meaningful hobbies. It will fade like WC said.

It's like I know almost everything about him, and can relate to him. I feel this is really serious. It may sound funny, but when I first met him I couldn't stand him. And after we became friends, because he knew I didn't want to date him at the time, he wanted a friendship. As we became friends the more I learned about him, the more I saw myself liking him. It's been going on 2 years now, I did the same thing 2 years ago. I tried to forget him, but my feelings for him never go away no matter what I do. And personality wise I always compare him on a maturity level, sensitive level, and his sense of humor to other guys which is why I can't see myself talking to anyone else now. I don't know what to do. I never felt like this before about any of the other guys I had a crush on.

I try to distract myself by taking care of myself. I do things like take time with my make-up, painting my nails, caring for my hair, nourishing my skin, and focusing on being successful in school. But part of him is still there, I just can't let it die.
