Did you ask him when his next appt was?

First appt, probably assessing what the problems were.

The no x-ray would cause me to wonder though. I'm not a big fan of chiro's in general, but the couple of times I did go they either did an x-ray on site or I had to have one done beforehand.

Wanna bet on whether he goes back or not?

Haha no he had to get to a meeting, but I'm going to ask him when he gets back. Him saying "It still hurts but I think it's going to get better" tells me (or at least I think it does) that he plans on going back. I know my chiro and I know he probably requested to see him twice next week. And probably already scheduled the appt. We'll see!! I'm like you though, I've been to two chiro's, both of which requested xrays unless you had some done recently. Most of the time they don't want to adjust you at all until they've ruled out something more serious. I have to say, my chiro was a lifesaver for me. I was hurting so bad I thought something was horribly wrong with me, he's gentle, non pushy, and TOTALLY made me feel better. He could always tell by touching my back where I was hurting without me telling him.

So...I'm betting right now that he DOES go back.

        You're on

Well, you had better luck with your chiro than I did with the two I saw. Both took a look at my x-ray and said they wouldn't touch it. Granted my problem was cervical disks and not torso or lumbar, but should that have mattered.

Well some issues are really only treatable by surgery. Those, a chiropractor can't do much for and risks causing you more damage by messing with you. If chiro's could fix every back prob, no one would ever have to get back surgery. Hopefully he has better luck than you did!!

Yep, you're on. I love a good bet. haha

BabyGirl - what you are saying, and the pics, are all things he needs to understand. There are people out there with these ailments who'd give anything to have his physical health.....yet he seems to be so focused on the smallest of things that it affects what he does. Those pics you posted are things he needs to see. When he's wallowing in misery with an achy back or a sore throat, or a sore knee, or etc etc etc.

He came over Sat to help me do some landscaping. He made it through (alot of squating, and a lot of bending over) without much complaint. He did comment about how bad his wrist hurt a few times, but I totally ignored it and he stopped and hsn't mentioned his wrist since. Oh, and he said the next day that when he got home that night he had a fever and woke up sweating. Though he hasn't mentioned being ill since. We got half done with the project before dark, so I said I'd work on it on Sunday. He had a bball game Sunday afternoon (intramural with some of the guys he works with) at like 5ish. He didn't offer to come help me on Sunday, so I literally spent 7 hours nonstop working on it by myself. I finished it, but I was exhausted (though proud). He then felt guilty after I was done and started justifying why he wasn't here to help, saying things like "The bball games are pretty intense. I try to save my energy for them on the days I have games. I would've come another day this week to help." I got mad because I felt like his feelings of guilt had nothing to do with me, and were NOT what I wanted to hear. So I said "It's really ticking me off right now that AFTER I've spent 7 hours doing physical labor by myself you're feeling guilty NOW and start justifying it. I'm sorry that I did not waste an ENTIRE day off of beautiful weather to do this because you had ONE 1.5 hr ball game in the evening that you need to save your energy for!". He later apologized and said he misinterpreted a comment I made about it being "an exhausting job" and that he was very proud of me for finishing it by myself.

I couldn't help but feel a bit angry at him for saying what he said about how he has to save his energy on bball game days. What????? I've just spent 7 hours out in the sun doing physical labor, digging, measuring, putting blocks in the ground, etc and you're talking to me about having to save an entire day of energy for an hour and a half of bball? Needless to say, it's a good thing he wasn't here when he said that.

I do think the next time he starts complaining about another ailment, I'm going to find pictures like these you posted and send them to him in an email.

So, he knew you needed extra help. He helped you half way, with some nagging along the way, but he was fit for basketball with his workmates (no health complaints there). And then justifies this (perhaps to himself more than to you?) with "bball is demanding".

Without his previous 'health complaints' I'd say it was just a little moment of selfishness that could be forgiven. But adding this to the other ones... I'm still a little worried

Yeah, I know it makes him look bad. Him not being there to help Sunday was less the issue....because I knew he wasn't coming (due to the ball game). And lets get real here, it's March Madness time of year and he's a bball nut so am I shocked that he wanted to stay home Sunday? No. What bothered me was the feelings of guilt he had AFTER I was done and then making it sound like he couldn't be there because he had to save all his energy for this 1 intramural bball game, telling me how "intense" the games are. I get it....he's not the manual labor type of guy. And yesterday he called around to dirt companies for me trying to work out a delivery for some dirt I needed. In that regard he's very helpful. And it's not his house, I don't EXPECT him to be there everytime I have a project that requires manual labor....but if he's NOT going to be there, then I don't need to his lame excuses after the fact because he feels guilty about it. I told him that. And we haven't brought it up since.

He has a follow up with his ortho today for his knee. It hasn't bothered him a bit since his last appointment, so he should get a good report.

And yeah, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a bit worried too. There are alot of good things about this guy, otherwise I wouldn't be in it at this point.....but I wonder at times if these things are just incompatibilities between us that will be a tough challenge to ever work through? OR, if he's just legitimately been going through a tough spell physically and health wise.

I guess I see things a little differently,

So what it isn't his house, even if I did have a game late Sunday afternoon, I'd sure as heck would have volunteered my time Sunday morning and early Sunday afternoon to finish the project. For heavens sake, he's only 30 years old and he can't do two things in one day?

                      BD..
I'm so glad you weren't offended by the Pic's.. I know I can be a bit harsh with some of my thoughts sometimes and I may need to learn restraint on posting them . So as not to offend Ppl.

It may be me, but I just have this thing about ****ers & Moaners. Now legitimate problems I can Empathize and Sympathize with and do my best to help. But those who are unwilling to help themselves, just get on my nerves after a time.

I bet your yard looks awesome. And I'll bet you really put in extra effort and part of that was fueled by your being upset with him. Lol
