    Truth

Group of couples have been friends for 20 years +. One of the other husbands speaks to you as he suspects his wife of playing away. You know she has had affairs/one night stands behind his back. He asks you a direct question, has she had/or is having affairs. yes or no.

Would you tell him the truth?

I would simply say that it is none of your business to get involved in their relationship and you think it is best that he talks to his wife about his concerns. You could be asking for trouble...

In the question you say that I "know" she is doing these things. How do I "know"? Or do I just strongly "suspect"? I don't think I would answer the question. I would tell him to talk to his wife. I would not "lie" to cover for her.

A direct question deserves a direct answer "Yes Dave, your wife has had afairs/one night stands."

If he asks for specifics, then tell him to go ask his wife, as you weren't there so you don't have any details.

If you lose her as a 'freind' so be it...what kind of 'friend' shares this information with another when the couples have been friends for that long?

She put you in the middle by sharing that information with you. It's HER problem, not YOUR problem.

Since we don't know how you know this it is difficult to answer appropriately.
Do you have direct, even verifiable information about this?
Or have you just caught hints or seen something that looks suspicious?
Encourage her to be honest, but unless you are absolutely certain, I would tell him the truth that you don't Really know but have seen some things that seen ill-advised.
