What do you think should I do to stop this really destructive trait before it affects my life and everyone around me?

I'm over emotional and I know that it could affect our relationship.
One of the things that I hate about myself is being over emotional. I cry even in the smallest things (discussing problems, watching touching movies, criticisms from my love ones, tears of joy, etc). I try my best not to cry and be too sensitive about little things but i just can't control it. For instance, my boyfriend and I are talking about some problems or issues, I just cry all of a sudden because I feel bad so he will ask me why so I'll answer, then he will tell me that I'm such a cry baby that's why I can't think straight, then I'll get mad too (that's how our fight starts). I'm just worried that because of this destructive trait, he might end up breaking up with me.

I am the same way and i am going thru the exact same thing. Once we fight i cry, just because i wear my heart on my sleeve. He always gets mad or my crying doesnt even phase him. It kills me. But lately to stop i realized out relationship was at the edge of the cliff because i get too sensitive about everything and that alone made me want to change. and now i stopped. I get hurt but i am blocking those emotions. Just try to picture him leaving u because of ur sensiviness and it really puts u in a reality check because then u realize how much they mean to you. Sooner or later your gonna have to put your heart away cause if its not him you will change for im sure it will be for someone else.

After we fight or my emotional phase, i'm like "what the f did i do that?!" then I'll feel guilty after for giving him a hard time and how stupid and over emotional I was. :/Originally posted by sungoddesschelsyYep! I have even been in the middle of a giant arguement crying and screaming... then its like your mind has this moment of clarity and you are thinking to yourself "what the H is the big deal?? what am I flipping out about??"
I also find that I'm more sensitive over something if a male says it... a female friend of mine told me something and it didn't really effect me so much but when a male said the same thing it took my self-esteem to 0Comment

I just hope that I'll learn how to really control it and manage to swallow all the craziness that I feel because I really love my boyfriend. I don't want to give him a hard time coping up with my over emotional/crazy side :CComment

It's really healthy for all of us to have a good cry from time to time! But,being emotional over the smallest thing, could put a strain on your relationship after a while! Whenever you start feeling that way! May I suggest you try to think about something that really makes you happy!! P.S. Someone once told me,if you have nothing to say, keep it to yourself. I try to do that...Comment
