Thank you, again, both of you. I have continued to make new friends - only last week on a train from Berlin to Stockholm - but my heart isn't in these, really. I'm going through a spell of depression, I guess, and you've picked up on that. But I did mention my relationship with Max as an unusual kind of bond which I've never been able to "describe". Cheers. -
PS: My ex internet "friend" I wrote about last year.... He's a deeply troubled, but highly intelligent person. We agreed not to contact each other again, but he continues to refer to me on the music forum long after I've ceased contributing!! These are a mixture of good and bad things, reflecting his ambivalences. My husband knows about it all, and says "you had an affinity, but it was a love/hate relationship". He's a wise old bird, but I still feel empathy and compassion for my erstwhile companion on the internet. Best wishes, Seniora.Comment

I don't think I picked up depression, just a loss
You know? A need to find someone whom is on your level, even just to communicate with as that is all you are after.
I have no doubt either from the way in which you write, talk, that you draw facination from people that can't forget you
Keep smiling..great to hear from you again.

Yes, the need to connect with the like-minded is compelling isn't it? Hence, this forum!! Since retiring as a high-school teacher I've become restless, as the intellectual opportunities diminish once one retires. But I've always sought out interesting people - they're just thin on the ground when one retires. Most want to talk about grandkids or do permanent baby-sitting. I am travelling Europe for a year with my husband and not at all missing my family, appalling as that might seem. Skype!! This is the saviour. Thanks again for your encouraging and sympathetic comments.Comment
