    on a break?

I need some advice from an outsiders point of view...My boyfriend and I had been together for almost a year. We really formed an amazing connection and had some truly great times together. For whatever reason, we got into a pretty heated drunken fight over the weekend. We never fought alot, but every time we did it got really bad. This time he ended things, but after talking a little more we decided on taking a break instead of being so extreme. We havent talked in 5 days. I text messaged him asking to talk, and he said hes not ready and needs more time. I can respect that, but can't help feeling like I'm waiting for nothing...everyone close to him says hes suffering and I am too! I miss him and deep down I feel like we will end up together...but of course I have my doubts...We are both in our 20's and I feel that this should be taken very seriously....any advice??

Since your b/f said he needs time, you should respect that and give him time.
He's obviously not ready to talk---not just yet.
Maybe he needs to sort some things out... work through some things. Maybe he wants to look at what got the whole "heated drunken fight" started and perhaps try to get things together so that doesn't happen again.

You say you feel like you're waiting for nothing.... ??

Why do you feel like that?
It could be that a little time and space is what's needed.

      I hate breaks,

everyone is waiting for the other to take the first step.
Go to your man and tell him how do you feel about being apart from him.

you take the first step here and see his reaction,
then you can decide based on that if he really wants to go on or not.

      good luck

thanks for the responses...i did send him a text telling him that i missed him, just because i didn't want to be pushy and call after only a few days. i also wanted to feel him out, and he definitely did not seem ready to talk. so, since i care about this and him, i am respecting him and giving him space. i guess i feel like i'm waiting for nothing because i'm afraid he will decide that i'm not worth it and he won't want to try and work on things after this "break". breaks suck! i'm trying to be strong about it but its hard when you feel like you're missing your best friend

so it is like you waiting for his decision whether to take you back or not.
          ????

if he wants more time then wait for few days and then Talk to him no text messaging, telling him that you love him and you want him back now , if he asks for more time then that is a signal, that he does not want you.

            Bailee7,

just go out and socialize... hang out with your friends; go pamper yourself; enjoy some hobbies! Just occupy your time with the things YOU like to do; the things that make Bailee7 who she is.

Since he hasn't responded, just let time and space remain between you 2.

We all go through changes and we learn from things. Maybe you 2 will get back together... who knows? Just continue to be you and let the chips fall where they may.
