I'm sorry you had such a terrible fight... but it sounds like it might have clicked with him. I don't blame him for wanting to save money, that's very smart and responsible, but he still should have taken your feelings more seriously. He might be realizing that this wasn't just something that you wanted to do for fun, but a really special time to celebrate your relationship. I hope that he will learn to appreciate the celebration of your anniversary, too.I think he then realized that he hurt me and came to me, held me and said he was sorry for making me cry so hard, and for arguing, and not understanding that I just want him to help me and for everything. He told me that he is going to make an effort to change for me. I apologized as well.
After that we sat in each others arms and planned our anniversary together. I also told him we can only celebrate it once a year, more than that is too much.
Celebrating once a year is very reasonable, I didn't realize that anybody celebrated more frequently than that, lol! Maybe you can come up with anniversary traditions, special things you can do together that make it memorable but don't necessarily cost money. That way, neither of you will be under pressure every year to save money or come up with something. He sounds like he's not very good with dates/celebrations... you may need to ease him into it ;]Comment
