Is a year not long enough?

Me and my boyfriend have been together for 1 year and 4 months. I just recently had his first baby in August and he's been taken full responsibility of my 2 other children for about a year now...
The situation is everyone has been asking us when we are going to get married since they found out I was pregnant. At first it did get aggrivating but when I was like 7 months pregnant I realized he was the one I really want to marry, But he tells me that he does not want to get married right now but as the days go on I stress myself out by wondering O.K. is he going to ask me today? I just need some advise what should I do in this situation?

I voted for 1-2 years. I see a year as the minimum before you get engaged. That gives you time to get to know each other and work out any 'kinks' before you make that commitment. But your situation is different. You already have a child with this man. You can talk to him about how great he is and why you want to be his wife. Maybe he'll explain why he's not ready. But don't try to nag him into marrying you. He'll feel pressured and that will put more of a strain on your relationship. But he sounds like a good man and you're raising a family together. You'll just have to be patient.

To me, in order of increasing commitment, there is:
      getting married
      buying a house together
      having children.

The first is easily reversed if it doesn't work.
The second can be untangled, but may need lawyers and paperwork
The last you ar committed to for the rest of your life.
