I'm really confused with my relationship

I've been dating the same guy for almost a year & a half & he seemed perfect at first he was crazy about me & always wanted to hangout or talk or text, a couple weeks ago he tried breaking up with me which was a big surprise because I've brought it up before & he's immediately shot it down, he always used to say he wanted to be together forever & he'll never leave me/ hurt me (which I know a lot of guys say) but when he tried breaking up with me he was really mean about it his reasons were that I've gotten "much bigger" & that I never dress up. I convinced him to stay with me (I don't know why) but we went on a date that night & he apologized but ever since then things between us feel different (he doesn't think so) but I feel like he doesn't care, that he doesn't make time for me, I get bad anxiety over it all. We hungout the past few days & he acts different than he used to, he barely texts me ( which is odd because we used to text all day nonstop) he works a lot & plays baseball competitively. I know he's busy but I'm confused & I don't want to get hurt. I love him & he claims to love me, he was my first everything & I don't want to lose him but I'm lost! Please help, advice anything!

It sounds like he is now afraid to break up. I get the feeling that he was the most honest when he was being mean. If he cannot accept the new you, then he will never have a tight connection to you. Maybe he would again if you went back to the old you, but that would just show that he is more interested in your shape than he is in the real you - your personality, your background, how you laugh, etc. I wonder if he would realize what he was missing if you two were to break up.
I have but one lamp by which my feet are guided, and that is the lamp of experience.
    ...
Shall we gather strength by irresolution and inaction? Shall we acquire the means of effectual resistance by lying supinely on our backs and hugging the delusive phantom of hope, until our enemies shall have bound us hand and foot?

From a speech by Patrick Henry on March 23, 1775 at St. John's Church, Richmond, Virginia

I think he's superficial just quietly.

People can bring you down and make you feel worse and consequently we as people just well, do what makes us feel better, sometimes that's eating.

To love someone is to love them inside and out, and to make them feel loved and in that, we glow.

If a person feels he doesn't love you as you've put on weight? Ask yourself why to start with, second who cares, it's the inner you a person loves....

I'd let him break up love.
