It bothers me in a general sense. And I no longer believe "love" is anything but a chemical cocktail that our brain starts releasing and messing our emotions up. But just knowing that doesn't mean I'm immune, even if I wish I were. I think she's really conflicted right now with the kids thing. I think she's finding it hard to consider looking for someone else that's going to treat her like crap again when I've been so good to her. But she wants kids. That's something I can't budge on, no matter what feeling of emotions get in the way. I guess I've become hardened in a way.

I did ask her, and I'm glad she told me. I don't judge her at all. From the "vibes" I've been getting, she was never "playing" around, but rather wanted a good guy in her life, and they all did exactly what you say.

I know, how ironic huh?
I still don't have the power to make sure that any hypothetical kids don't grow up damaged.
I'd have no control what they learn in school. I have no financial guarantees. I could lose my job right now and because I have no dependents, I'd probably be fine for a few months. I could even get a job that pays less and still survive.
With a wife, 2 kids, a mortgage, etc etc, no way! I wouldn't be able to sleep.
If I had a boy, I'd have no control on how he grows up. I could teach him what I know, but he still might prefer to get in with the wrong crowd, etc etc.
I know people personally with kids in jail even though they tried to be great parents. One of the fathers died from the stress at 56 years old.
If I had a girl, I have no control on what guys she "falls" for. As you probably know, younger inexperienced girls tend to fall for those "hip-hop" thuggish types that are definitely not role models for society. I'd have no control for when they show up pregnant, and becoming my problem to take care of.
The chances of these things happening are extremely high. Ignoring these things is wishful thinking. I live in reality.Pigeonholer extraordinaire!Comment

"I'm not bringing a child into this World, that has gone from being grateful for a 10c piece, to demanding all the new trends, rebocks, computers, I phones, then there is credit".
"I'm not bringing a child into this World where man is destroying it, I mean heck, there may not be a World by the time they are 50".
They would be my terminology on it.
Everything and every problem is media. They never had TV's, they would all play softball, baseball or something, outside on the streets. They never had the demands of media TV to look good, fashion at 16.
So on the finance side, that all started with TV started, where commercials were aimed at the kids, not the parents and off course, the kids had to have it, or else they would be classed as being a nerd.
It was more minor in our youth huh.
It's choice and I can see where you are coming from but, we can
If this was me? Years earlier? I'd consider country living, farms, small schools or even overseas poor countries.. Then children would know life and all that there is in it....
That's still a consideration/thought for you.PUT A LITTLE 'LIKE' IN MY SOUL!Comment
